Ok, so one of my XP machines is getting reconfigured for Windows 98 since i finally acquired a decent CRT (along with an Antec 350 watt PSU Out of an abandoned mobile home of all places) and well, you guys are the experts on this so i figured i'd ask for advice here. Currently the system has
Dell 250W Power Supply (Ill put the Antec unit i found with my monitor in it if it actually works, idk, it sat in an abandoned trailer for 8 years xD)
2.8GHZ Socket 478 Pentium 4
2GB DDR in 4x512 Configuration (Unless im mistaken i have to cut that down to 512 for 98 to boot correct?)
MSI NVIDIA GeForce 4Ti 4200 128MB (AGP 8x)
ASUS FalconII TV Tuner Card
2 Realtek Networking Cards
Basically my research would indicate that this would be the correct setup for the time period
Aureal A3D Capable Sound Card (Not very knowledgeable on these, i got into PC's in that late SB X-Fi era)
NVIDIA GeForce 2 Ultra
Currently i'm wondering which Aureal sound card i should go after and if the GF2 would actually be enough for late Windows 98 games (Unreal Tournament for example). I could leave the GF4 in there but the drivers wouldnt be as well optimized and ive heard of compatibility issues with 98.
Any suggestions?
