When i install the YMF724 Sound card it installs the drivers for the sound card but once i gets to the YAMAHA DS-XG Legacy Sound System it bsods i have turned off all the extra including on board audio controller but i keep getting a bsod on windows 98 with the VxD drivers from this web site..My motherboard is 775i65g r3.0

I have that same motherboard and I would get the BSOD as well with my Waveforce 192.

The solution for me was the swap the card with a Guillemot Fortissimo because its drivers use IRQ 7 for the SB emulation, whereas the Yamaha drivers use IRQ 5.

If you can figure out how to mod the drivers to use IRQ 7 then maybe the BSOD problem will go away.

I had to install Windows 98 with PnP disabled. For some reason, the chipset drivers were conflicting with the legacy DSXG driver.

Setup.exe /is /ix /p i

I think someone told me to do this because of some kind of AHCI problem.
