This is my first post on this forum, so i want to say hello to everyone! 😀 I'm a collector of almost all types of computer related retro hardware (8/16bit, consoles and PCs of course) from Poland. Ok, so moving to the point - i got this beautiful beast (photo from internets) but hard-drive inside seems to be dead - it makes silent ticks only. It's a ESDI type and i have no idea how to replace it. My question is - what are "today" solutions for replacing ESDI hard disks? Is there any home brew adapters/projects maybe i don't know about or the only way to replace it is to spend $200 on eBay?

The only reasonable thing I can think of would be the XT-IDE project, assuming the system has a free ISA slot.

It has not. I'd use SCSI or IDE controller then.
