I'm about to use a MS 6905 slotket and was wondering if it is possible to install slot 1 coolers on these instead of mounting a big heatsink/fan to the 370 socket? Ideally I'd like to have the slotket/cooler be more like the cartridge style P2/PIII CPUs.

Would something like this fit an MS6905? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AAVID-CPU-Heatsink-Fa … 0MAAOSwmCVY-72j

What cooling solutions do you all use on your slotkets?

I've only used s370 or sA HSFs on slotkets. Since I already have such HSFs available in abundance and I have few real Slot 1 HSFs, I really never saw any use for trying to mount a Slot 1 HSF to a Slotketted s370 CPU.

You use a socket 370 cooler on the slocket. The one you linked is for Slot 1, as in the cartridge style cpu. If you want to keep a slot style cpu you could always keep an eye out for a 500-600mhz Katmai or a higher clicked coppermine in that "socket"

Ah, I guess it's not necessary as there are some VERY low profile S370 coolers. They are unfortunately pretty expensive!

You can get a 1U copper cooler for ~15 like this one. The fans are usually noisy on these coolers; you can replace them with quieter ones if you don't plan to OC.
