Specs:

- Standard 230v PSU

- Intel 443bx Slot 1 motherboard

- Intel Pentium III Katmai 450mhz

- ATI Radeon 7000 DR VIVO

- 2x 64mb PC100 SDRAM sticks

- 20GB Quantum Fireball HDD

- RICOH DVD drive

- Standard CD and FDD drives.

When I plug in the PC it briefly powers on then powers off. All drive LEDs light up. Power button does NOT turn on PC. Any ideas on what to do? I shall not sleep until this PC build POSTs.

1. Power supply
2. Motherboard
3. Motherboard shorting out in computer case from an extra standoff.
4. Something else that is plugged into the motherboard. Unplug absolutely everything except the power supply, CPU, video card and RAM.
5. Could be that the power button on the case is faulty or is not plugged into the correct place. Try manually jumpering the power switch legs on the motherboard with a screwdriver or other metal object to see if it powers on.
