2012 - Intel Core i5 3350p
2012 - Intel Core i5 3570k
2013 - AMD FX 8350 (wanted to see for myself how bad the new AMD chips were)
2013 - Intel Core i7 3820 (LGA 2011) - bought this discounted when the new LGA 2011 chips came out. It went to my sister a month later. She seemed pretty happy with it up until 2014.
2014 - Intel Core i7 3630qm (went mobile again - Dell Precision M6700)

^Mega points for sticking with AMD all those years. I jumped ship when my 6400+ was stuttering like crazy in S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Crysis with a brand new and expensive 8800GTX, and AMD's quad core parts kept getting delayed.
A lot of you guys are crazy, buying a new CPU ever year or sometimes 2-3 times a year. Crazy crazy. This is my list:
1995 - Intel Pentium P54C 100MHz (came with the Packard Bell system with Windows 95)
1999 - Intel Pentium II 350MHz (Windows 98)
2002 - AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1.53GHz "Palomino" (first Window XP system)
2005 - Intel Pentium M 2.1GHz (came with my Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2 laptop I got while being in the Army)
2009 - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz (built my mom a Windows Vista PC and it ran perfectly - no bad-mouthing Vista!)
2010 - Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz "Lynnfield" (my first real gaming rig, with dual GTX 480s in SLI)
2015 - Intel Core i7-6700K 4.2GHz "Skylake" (paired with a GTX 980ti)
For the record, that Core 2 Duo Vista system ran perfectly all the way until Vista was forcefully shut down by IE being out of date, Chrome being out of date, etc. That CPU went into a newer system that now runs Windows 10 and I sold it to my best friend. Works perfectly fine for him.
The i7-860 STILL works like a beast. My mother is now using it for her computer and the rest of the family there while I have my 6700K.
Of course, that list doesn't cover the new CPUs I've purchased this past year for retro systems, that includes a Katmai 600MHz Pentium III and a Barton 2.1 GHz Athlon XP 3200+.
List of my CPUs, the ones in bold I still have in my posession:
1998 - Pentium II "Klamath" 300
2000 - Celeron "Coppermine" 566
2001 - Athlon MP "Palomino" 1200
2002 - Celeron "Tualatin" 1100
2002 - Athlon XP "Thoroughbred B" 2400+
2003 - Athlon XP "Barton" 2500+
2004 - Athlon 64 "ClawHammer" 3200+ (754)
200? - Athlon 64 "ClawHammer?" FX-55 (939)
200? - Athlon 64 "San Diego?" 3700+ (939)
2005 - Pentium M "Dothan" 730
2005 - Celeron M "Dothan" 350
200? - Opteron "Denmark" 165
2006 - Core 2 Duo "Conroe" E6300
200? - Pentium "Allendale" E2140
2010 - Core i7 "Nehalem" 920
2011 - Xeon "Westmere" 5606
Both Dothan CPUs were used in desktop motherboards. I'm currently runnung an Xeon 5645ES in my main rig, but I bought it second hand.
1997 - K5-PR133
1999 - Celeron 366
2001 - Celeron 566
2002 - Celeron 1.0A
Can't remember things in between, maybe an Athlon XP or two
2015 - Evergreen AMD-X5-133
2015 - A10-7800
2016 - A10-7860k

i rather die than use Intel in my main rig. There is nothing wrong with their processors (except Netburst), i just cant stand the way they handle things (demands, monopoly, prices, etc)
dont forget that we have i3 with 4 cores, i5 with 6 cores, i7 with 6 cores/12threads, i9, etc because Ryzen. If it wasnt for Ryzen, Intel could still selling i7s with 4cores/8threads like high end at crazy prices...
Intel 386DX20
AMD K6-2 450Mhz
Athlon XP 1700+ (Palomino)
Athlon64 3200 Venice, socket 939
Phenom II 955
FX 8350 - my current cpu
I'm only listing ones I personally owned and used when they were still new. I had a Vic 20 and my first PC was a handed down 286 but they were my fathers and I didn't start using them until I was old enough.
The first 3 all used the same case, first was a family PC.
1992 - 486DX 33 (Keydata brand, family PC but I lived on it virtually 24/7, my father paid many thousand for this)
1996 - Pentium 133
97-98 - AMD K6-2 350
2000~ - Athlon 800 (thunderbird I believe, I still have the processor). First processor I paid for myself, ahh the good old burger flipping days.
In college I used laptops
2002 - P4 Northwood 2.2 ghz (Alienware Area 51 Cyborg Green --- Biggest waste of money in my life). Ran Morrowind very nicely though 😎
2004 - AMD Turion ???? (HP laptop). I used this all the way up until 2010. Was too busy for computers.
Back to desktops:
2010 - AMD Phenom II X4 955BE
2014 - AMD FX 4350
Sup. I like computers. Are you a computer?
Mmx pentium
450mhz pii
750mhz piii
1.7ghz p4
Q9550
After the core 2 i lost all interest in new hardware.
These don't include the family computer when i was growing up (only computers that were my own). I remember using my 486 into early 2000 to browse the internet and play some modern games (like Diablo battlenet on dialup)
1998 - 386DX40
1999 - Compaq 486DX2-66
2000 - Celeron 633
2001 - Pentium 4 1.6GHz
2004 - Athlon XP 2500+
2006 - Athlon64 X2 3800+
2009 - Phenom II X4 925
2016 - Core i5 6600k
If I remember correctly:
Desktop processors:
1993 - AMD 486SX-40
1995 - Cyrix 486DX-33
1996 - AMD 486DX4-100
1997 - Cyrix 6x86 P150+
1998 - Cyrix 6x86MX PR200
1999 - Celeron 300A (@450MHz)
2000 - Pentium III 600E (Socket 370)
2002 - Athlon XP 1600+ (Palomino)
2003 - Athlon XP 2600+ (Barton)
2005 - Athlon 64 3200+ (Socket 939)
2007 - Core 2 Duo E6400
2008 - Core 2 Duo E8400
2011 - Core i5 2500K
2014 - Core i5 4690K (in my current PC)
Interesting trivia: I had several models of 486 processors, but never had the most "classic" one, the DX2-66. Also, I never had an actual Pentium (P54, P55), instead I blindly bought into the Cyrix 6x86 hype.
Mobile processors:
2005 - Mobile Pentium 4 HT 3.06 (a little furnace, from a Toshiba Satellite A75 whose fan sounded like a jet taking off)
2008 - Core 2 Duo P7350 (from a late 2008 Macbook)
Yeah, I've only owned two laptops in my entire life, the newest one being a late 2008 Macbook. I just find them uncomfortable to use for extended periods so I don't feel compelled to buy one, instead relying on the ones I get from my work.
Hmmm... Best recollections -
1991- Intel 8086 (Tandy 1000 SL)
1995 - Intel 80286 (IBM PS/2 - This one is dubious, since it was new to me, but second-hand, and the 286 was very long in the tooth at the time)
1997 - Intel 486DX4/100
1998 - AMD K6/233
1999 - Cyrix 6x86M2 PR300
2000 - AMD K6-2/350
2001 - AMD K6-III+/475 (Laptop)
2001 - AMD Athlon 750 (Slot A)
2002 - AMD Athlon 1000 (Socket A)
2003 - AMD Athlon MP 1800+ (2x Socket A)
2005 - AMD Athlon64 3200+ (Socket 754)
2007 - AMD Opteron 250 (Socket 940, 2x)
2008 - AMD Opteron 285 dual-core (Socket 940, 2x, same board)
2009 - AMD Phenom II x4 975 (Socket AM3)
2013 - Intel Core i5 4670K (current Linux box)
2013 - Intel Core i3 4150 (Test machine)
2016 - Intel Core i3 6100 (Wintendo)
Main Box: Macbook Pro M2 Max
Alas, I'm down to emulation.
around 1992 - 286 @16mhz - if I recall correctly. Huge AT case with power switch on the side, "Casper" color VGA monitor;
>>>
1993 - 386 @16mhz - in compact Escom enclosure. Same monitor.
>>>
1994 - 486 SX 33 - IBM PS/1 machine that I can't find anywhere. No photos, no model number - it must have been some odd model. Later added Aztech 4x CD-ROM and some Highscreen digital CRT with built-in speakers. Had no use for them as I never had a sound card.
>>>
1996/7 - Pentium 133 with 32mb of RAM. My father's obsolete office computer that he got uprgaded to P2 266
>>>
1999 - Pentium 2 266 - Polish "ADAX" brand. 64mb RAM, some ATI Mach card. Again, got it as my father upgraded to P3 500
>>>
2000 - Pentium 3 500 - Polsish "ADAX" brand with 196 mb of RAM.
>>>
Newer ones I consider pretty modern stuff.
