Painting cases is hard and I haven't had any success despite several attempts. Most recently I bought a decent quality paint gun and had the local hardware store match the paint colour to a drive bay panel, but even that looked wonky, and I never get a really hardy finish no matter what I do with sanding it back / using primers.

Mine? Yes at least one of them was, but I ended up sanding that one back to bare metal.

I've also taken a case to a local painting company and they told me to get lost - too hard to match the colour for the size of the job. On a more positive note I have had success painting plastic; a C64 case came up really well with an off-the-shelf spray pack (after a plastic primer). But that's easier because the whole case is plastic, you're not trying to match a metal to a plastic colour.

Make sure you protect the paint by applying sealer afterwards

Nope im just trying to match my floppy emulator and the dvd drive to the front plastic case.

I was thinking about having a dealership match the paint color, but I ended up on settling on this look. I'm really digging the way it turned out. A lot of older HP's did this with their towers.

I'm debating on weather or not to do the power and reset in grey as well.

Rust-Oleum kicks ass! I have that same case, but I'm painting it multi-beige this summer once I get some free time.
