So I was inspired by a friend's setup and found a local Craigslist Tandy 1000HX and picked it up today. System unit, CM-5 monitor, printer, box, manuals for $110.

I ultimately want to have 640K, IDE + CF, and serial ports on the thing. Trying to determine if I should seek / wait for "Plus" expansions for serial and IDE (did IDE ever exist as Plus tho?) or get the ISA edge converter (two) and go with small ISA cards.

Does anyone have recs for a few benchmark progs, utils, demos, etc? to get to playing around with the unit? I've only got the base 256K but do have a joystick from my CoCo 3. I have a 5x86 160 DOS build on the desk next to it, and it's on the LAN (mTCP), so I'm writing out floppies and playing around with a few things -- Tandy Christmas Demos, Thexder, this and that. Wanting to see the Tandy gfx and sound in action, etc.

I am aware of this page, btw:

Any recs appreciated.

I wish Tandys weren't so hard to come by and expensive in the UK. Super jealous of your set up!
