Today arrived my first ever VLB VGA card, but my VLB full system didn't arrived yet to test it.
So, I have a question, the card has 8 chips of GM71C4256A-70 DRAM installed. This means that the full amount of RAM is 2MB?

Most VLB cards were limited to 2mb, yes.

8 chips gives 1MB total. You need 16 of the 20pin ones for 2MB. If there's empty SOJ sockets then filling those will give 2MB.

Indeed, 8 x 4x256K = 1 MB
CL-GD5428 supports up to 2 MB, so there may be sockets for additional RAM on that card.

No there aren't other sockets. They' re all filled up.
It has also two NEC 424260-70 DRAM chips soldered.

Then it is 2MB. 1MB in the 2 chips and 1MB in the 8.

Just google the chip ID then, you usually get the chip structure in one of the first hits.
Just fit it and fire the system up. It'll tell yet how much ram it has.
