I recently acquired a Sager (AKA Clevo) P4 gaming laptop with a seriously annoying problem. It constantly freezes. It freezes in the BIOS, it freezes on the POST screen when it does the memory count, and sometimes the screen doesn't come up at all. I thought it was the CMOS battery but putting in a new one didn't help. What could it be? RAM? Caps? Overheating? I genuinely have no idea.

You should try with one known good RAM stick and see if the issue persists. Would also recommend Memtest86+ if you get the machine stable with one stick.

Worth a shot! I'll have to dig around for some other DDR1 laptop RAM, I really could use some more of that.

Check Caps and Power Supply.

This is Clevo Desktop Replacment Laptop right ?
i have Clevo S754 Laptop and it had similar issues, the power supply was bad.

Yeah, Sager is Clevo.

I'll have to figure out the pinout of the power supply to see if it's putting out the right voltages...
