This is an ECS motherboard.
I think the model name is 286A. I don't have infos about it, but maybe *someone* does !

I'd like to document your board on my site. Can you please make a photo without the cables on the board and a better lighting ? I can give examples if you need some.

Also did these brackets come with your board ?

Hi guys,
Your posts helped me get my board working... Well to an extent!
I managed to get it to boot from floppy, the hard drive controller I think it fried so going to see if I can disable the onboard and use an expansion card.
Anyway, the issue I have is the CMOS battery. I cannot see where this would be plugged in.
I seem to recall that it has an external but that was many many years ago (I built it for my brother in law)
Looking at the board I just dont see where I can plug anything in.
Any ideas guys?

I took delivery of an ISA Controller card:
https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/hard-disk-floppy … -IDE-AT-32.html
Configuerd the motherboard to disable the onboard HDD controller.
Configured the expansion card to just do HDD
Plugged in an old HDDs (Tried both a 545mb and 248mb Seagate)
Configued the HDD paremeters on Type 47 in the BIOS
Booted to DOS from floppy
Fdisk: "No fixed disk present"
So, I cant get it to work with the motherboard controller or an expansion card controller.
Drives work fine in another machine.
Im at a loss. I dont want to throw it away but limited use if just a floppy unit.

Does the controller card you just got work in another machine as well? Were you able to replace/mod the RTC? I've seen other people say that some motherboards can act oddly if the CMOS battery is flat.

I have not ordered the RTC replacement yet but I will do as a last chance saloon for this board! 😀
Going to remove the one replace with a socket first.
As for the expansion card it was bought as working but you never know!
I dont have any other 16-bit ISA sockets to test it with (its depressing when you recollect what you have sold/thrown away in the past!)
