What at?
16b ALU code: most likely K6-2, but not by a big margin
16b FPU code: PPro clearly wins
32b code: PPro wins massively
MMX or 3DNow-optimized stuff: K6-2 wins handsomely
Its NOT about being fast in DOS gaming.
Its about compatibility with the games you want to play.
Pentium 100 has enough speed to play most DOS games well.
I think the Pentium MMX or AMD K6 CPU is a good choice for playing most DOS games well with good performance.
The CPU will NOT be a bottle neck in most DOS games.
well the OP didn't specify anything other than faster,
I suspect overall the Pentium Pro is a faster chip?
but it's much harder to get.
Pentium Pro will better for NT based stuff.
AMD for Dos related stuff.
Overall speed wise I shouldn't there will be much difference. at all.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

On a benchmark for example, which chip will get the highest score?

neat information 😀

You tell us the benchmark, we give you an answer.
A bit of background info can't hurt either.
I'd like to stumble across a Socket 8 board so I could see if the PP I have even works.

Phrasing! 😄

Let's just say we have 2 computers with them having those 2 chips at that clock speed. The OS is Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. We run Speedsys and then run a few MMX games (on a voodoo banshee). Also, we do some everyday tasks (email, word processing, etc). Which chip will be faster?
PPro will be faster in pretty much anything in reallife, maybe aside from some specific synthetic benchmark.
Many 3Dfx and Pentium III-S stuff.

I think I answered that earlier. And that answer has been verified. by the previous poster.

depends on which propulsion system you strap'm to.
Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

I've read the pentium pro is faster in the slingshot but slower if you hit it with a hockey stick.

😜
In that case no one's beating the Voyager CCS anytime soon 😉

Traveling at speeds of over 56,000 kilometers per hour
mmmh

Parker solar probe is flying past the sun at up to 343112,141 kmph
This one seems just a teensy tiny bit faster 😮

I stand corrected. That's FAST - and hot.
