Do 10k and 15k SCA SCSI drives work well with a 68-pin SCSI connection.
I know there are SCA to 68-pin adapters but how is the DATA transfer rate ?
Will it work okay ?

Yes. SCA means "Single Connector Attachment" with both 68pin SCSI, power and SCSI ID in same connection when used with a SCA backplane.
The transfer rate is same whether connected to SCA or 68pin wide when properly connected and is based on the drive AND the controller.
The SCA to 68 pin adapter has to have ID jumpers and you need a 68pin SE/LVD cable with Active termination built -in at the end as SCA drives rarely have any termination capability.
Most look for adapters like the Adaptec 2940U2W or if you want better the 19160N or 29160N if using in standard PCI slot.
Yes it will work OK, have a few SCA 10k that work just fine on U2W or 19160 adapters. There are other make/model scsi adapters that will work but those are about the best for this.
What model drives are they ?
