I have one of those, the bigfoot drive is kind of rare these days and most were unreliable.

I'm planning on replacing it with a CF adapter, but I really like how it sounds. It has the low grumble-grind I haven't heard for so long. It's just noticeably slower than the SD card in my 486 system. 😀

But I should think about backing it up, since It has some Compaq specific software that I'm not sure if I can easily replace.

@Artic,
My favorite part is the colors! It's the right shades of beige and it's only second to my 486. 😀 It has a n expansion slot on the motherboard that I have no clue at all would go in it, but I have two more EDO slots to fill. 😀 OH, and if I read things right, it already has a Wavetable integrated into the motherboard! 😲

@PeterLI,
I'm not sure if you're responding to my post, but I'm new to this and already have no space left in my office! I had to get really creative just to fit 2 new systems in this past week and at the moment everything is still a disaster... And the 3rd system I just bought has to go into the closet until I can get it a case and I'm not sure where to put it... I'm hoping to find another Ikea Jerker Desk locally! 😀

That media vision box reminds of my days of working at Computer City.

I bought a 256k Burst Cache DIMM on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/272121814688

I spent over an hour researching what the expansion slot was on my Compaq's mobo, so hopefully I didn't just waste 7 bucks...

Do you really think they will send this kit to your country for 2.45? I think they really selling air here.. (that price is to good to be trough.)

You paid that amount for that shrink kit, but possible they never will send it to you.. If 30.000 people will do the same.. 30.000 x 2.45 (is easy money)

I had to dig a bit, in order to give you an update on this purchase (I know it's over one month ago).

On the topic!
I recieved the shrink wrap tubes today. Recieved them in good condition.
The answer to you'r question must be: Yes they will ship to me at that low price.

I think those only work when the images are locally stored attachments, and not external sites like imgur. But I'm probably wrong on that.

And automatic thumbnails aren't working again...

That only works if people upload to the forum directly, these people were using imgur, imageshack, photobucket... On Imgur, it will auto-generate thumbnails for you, you just have to use the right BBCode. Dunno about the other services tho.

[EDIT] Fixed oeuvre's post and chose007's and Artex's post. In the case of oeuvre, he just needs to follow my Imgur tutorial. In the case of chose007, Photobucket seems limited to small thumbnails unfortunately, plus they removed the website's thumbnail generation feature so you have to mess with the embed code manually. As for Artex, investigation shows that Imageshack tries to limit thumbnail generation of sizes larger than 280x200 to paid accounts, but it's pretty easy to manipulate the embed code to get what you need.

This beast arrived today - IBM PS/2 P70 8573-121. Cosmetically it is in excellent condition, however it does not POST. The machine powers on, the keyboard lights blink, the hard drive spins up and does its seek test, but there's no display or beep. The two rear expansion bays are wide open, and a large screw was left loose, suggesting somebody had been in it at some point. Fingers crossed that it's only a loose CPU or connector, otherwise it's a great unit.

Has a 1.45ghz proc, 768MB of RAM (1 512MB module, 1 256MB module), an the ATI Radeon 9600 AGP graphics. This particular varient wasn't available to consumer's for very long (for the latter half of its run they only made cut down education versions, which this is not, this is the consumer version with a full battery of hardware). Also came with the optional Airport Wifi card. Sadly it only has a DVD reader, not the burner Superdrive. It has 10.5.8 Leopard on it so ill likely downgrade to to 10.4 tiger so i can run OS9 games on it. Not a bad use of 25 dollar's

For some reason pictures aren't loading for me embedded into the post, but if I copy-paste into a new tab they load fine.
