As nice as PVMs are (I own more than a few), using the intended display for any system will always be preferable to shoehorning the signal into some other format.

You already acknowledged that it's not running at the intended vertical retrace.

And I sure hope you're not implying that mode 13h isn't progressive on a proper VGA monitor! 😉

Not at all 😀

I added that to emphasis I was talking about 15kHz progressive as opposed to 15kHz interlaced.

Check out this thread over at Shmups (see Kamiboy's posts) for a success report: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6& … =54262&start=30

Here's the TSR he used:
DOS version: http://mirrors.arcadecontrols.com/VGATV/pwp.n … /dosDriver.html
Windows version:
http://mirrors.arcadecontrols.com/VGATV/pwp.n … /winDriver.html

You can find graphics cards compatibility list links on those pages. Have ordered some compatible cards, just waiting for them to arrive. They're very cheap on ebay.

Incidentally the Windows version looks very nice to use, let's hope it supports games launched in MS-DOS mode.
