Wouldn't there be any kind of risk to any of the other components if a CPU fries? I'm not entirely sure the motherboard will like it.

But it's true that K6-2 is very common indeed, but in the end it's up to emosun. Though personally I wouldn't even bother to try.

I agree. There's a high chance of killing not only the CPU, but the board as well. Eh - in the end it's your hardware, do whatever you want with it.

^Agreed.

I do like keychains, but I prefer the Intel PPGA chips as I think the black and silver looks nicer 🤣

Well I'm sure i got plenty of socket 7 boards to try although i wanted to see if these older boards could run them.

I agree the cpu isn't expensive or anything and i dont care if it frys but i do care if the motherboard dies as thats not so easy to get another.

I'd suggest using some Intel MMX 233 in your rig (if it's supported) as it will work with 2.8v and is plenty fast enough 😀

2.2v CPUs are more TX and beyond territory imo

Guess I'll have to send my memory RMA again 😊

True, you could kill the onboard voltage regulator as well.
