I like the Buy It Now aspect... especially when people post computer parts up for way cheaper than they would go for if it was an auction.

I think Buy It Now took off when eBay started offering it for free.

Back in the day, putting a sale as Buy It Now was an additional charge.

Not free. They still charge the 10% when you sell.
Yeah, they waive the listing fee for a limited number and that's why the place is polluted with vastly over priced items.

To me a "But It Now" is nothing more than an old school classifies ad and it shouldn't cost more than $1 or 2 no matter what you are selling.

I don't think many people are motivated to keep auctioning to a niche market for $1 per item.

I wasn't talking about auctions nor the cost of the items for sale.
I was talking about the cost of a classified ad which is all a BIN listing is.
Craigs List does it for free.
