Err... no. This was quite a nice collection sold, not just a Cyrix 5x86-133.

These three alone:
* INTEL 486SX to Pentium overdrive 83Mhz
* AMD 486SX to 5x86-P100
* Cyrix/IBM 486DX to cx5x86-133GP

are worth quite a penny. Two of them are even still boxed.

Excuse my ignorance. I wasn't aware that there was something different between a regular POD83 upgrade and an "INTEL 486SX to Pentium overdrive 83Mhz". Same goes for those other two items. What is the difference? Is it an interposer board sandwiched between the socket and the CPU?

derSammler, could you kindly explain what you are refering to? The only thing I know if to add compatibility to very old motherborads when using the more advanced socket 3 upgrades was some kind of interposer board, e.g. from Evergreen, Gainberry, etc. These are not of much value. Perhaps $30 each, at most. As far as I know, Intel did not make a special POD83's, other than what is commonly available.

Yep, I bought the lot.

What system are you using which automatically increases your max bid in the last 1-2 seconds?

If the auction did not contain a Cyrix 5x86-133/4x, what would you have paid for this lot?

I bought a 1 GHz Socket 370 Tualeron (Tualatin Celeron) CPU for $6 shipped. Hopefully it works on my GX150 so I can upgrade it to a Tualatin P3 later on, I'll post an update on the thread I made months ago once it comes.

This lot of cards + an Intel 4-port PCIe Gb NIC and a PCIe USB card that are not shown in the below pic.. if one of the other pics from the sale was actually supposed to be with this sale...

Cards I recognize:
Sound Blaster 32 - CT3600 with RAM
Cirrus Logic VLB video card
Via based PCI IDE/Sata controller
AGEIA PhysX - PCI
Sound Blaster PCI 128
Sound Blaster PCI 512
X-Fi PCI (maybe Xtreme Music although the ones I already have dont have that X-Fi block in the top right corner)
MWave ISA sound/modem
Trident ISA video card
Sound Blaster Vibra 16
Netgear PCI NIC
ATI Rage Pro AGP
Nvidia Vanta AGP
3Com 3C905 PCI NIC
VLB controller card
OPTI/AD based ISA sound card
Conexant PCI Modem
Diamond ISA modem
PCIe USB card
PCIe wireless card (whoopie....)
Tekram DC395U PCI Ultra SCSI

There are a few other cards I can't quite make out what they are exactly because of the potato camera pics.
PCI sound card - probably CL
AGP video card
ATI PCIe low end video card
ATI AGP video card
Another ATI AGP video card
AGP video card
weird ISA card with dip switches
TV Tuner/capture PCI card ?

Probably not going to keep a lot of this. After testing I'll probably stick back up on eBay to try to recover most, if not all, of what I paid.

Was the only bidder. Shipping was kinda high, but I guess it evens out in the end.

Apprently that requires a Mediator PCI bus something I can only dream of but I guess I can store this alongside the Radeon 9250 PCI for some day I can do that setup.

Don't see a problem to get mediator - afik, they are still available for sale on elbox site.

Another gem from the hoarder. It took me hours just to get the HDD running. In the end I had to swap the (busted) MFM drive and controller card to an IDE one with a BIOS chip. I also installed a Sound Galaxy BX II Extra for some sweet FM tunes. 😊

I can't believe how good the screen is though. No flicker and really nice smooth edges on the fonts.

Beautiful system! It's EGA isn't it? I just googled "Canon A-200ex" and google books returned a 1986 computing magazine mentioning said system with a list price of 10,000$ 😲

Oh I know.. I just don't own a 1200/3000/4000 to use it with - my Amiga for the moment is a lowly A500 with an ACA500plus turbo card.. It serves me well for KS/OS3.1 but beyond that I have no real Amiga hardware to use a Mediator with. Sad story. Hopefully one day..

i can relate. I once paid several hundred dollars for a single dual-cpu motherboard. was it worth it? only to me. Why? Because I wanted it, and it was the only one i've seen in 10 years of searching.

I know I have some cyrix processors gathering dust somewhere, you can bet I'm going to be checking for 133mhz ones.

🤣 ... I will bet.

I can relate also... I broke my personal record a couple of years back when I splashed out £175 on the Compaq Systempro... best money i've ever spent and i've never looked back.

It makes me wonder if 386's and related hardware will ever became as popular... they are practically all I have, and in abundance too!

Huh! Has two-three same primax boards back in the days, but didn't know, that them sold in a boxes. Allways think as cheap oem clone.

Primax also sold them in boxed version - take a look:

The funny part is that this is the same Primax but sold by Advanced Gravis as their own card.
Similar situation as with Gravis Extreme that is almost 1:1 the same as Synergy Viper Max but sold by Advanced Gravis.

19" CRT monitor from 2000 that originally retailed for $1400. Goes up to 1920x1440 but realistically can do 1600x1200 at a decent 85Hz so pretty good. I bought it for €25 😊 Can't wait for it to arrive.

Anyone have any experience with a monitor like this?

I used the 107P5 for almost a decade before eventuallymoving to an LCD.

Suffice to say that I was unimpressed by LCDs at the time.

You are looking at possibly the best CRT monitor ever made.

Sweet - I can't wait for it to arrive. It seems the guy had no idea what he was selling. Because it was so expensive on release, I find little info on it except that everyone talks about it as some magical out-of-their-price-range monitor. The guy still had the original box with everything inside as well. This will be fun to use as my default monitor since I will use it from PCs from 1993 up to 2008 - a wide range of resolutions is handy here.

Maybe the auto-bid did its thing... will be interesting if the buyer pays though. I once bid on a board and the other party's offer was pretty steep, too steep for me at least. Turned out that the other party later flat-out evaded payment.

The Philips CRT is most likely a gem - would love to have a couple of these.

Bought 2 BGCs... but none wants to really work at 180.

Primax also sold them in boxed version - take a look:

Nice! I have the same but sealed in box so was refreshing to see what are the contents inside if I ever consider opening mine 🤣

..Got myself a little (sealed) Christmas present today. PCI versions are just easy - they do work everywhere and with everything.

Put a fan on there since those things get hot (happened to me with the V3 2000 PCI card, and I took extreme caution with the V3 3000 PCI card by screwing a fan on there) and can get artifacts.
