Interestingly enough, I can't even attach it to the post as an image despite renaming the file.. The board keeps throwing the following error when I submit:
Some attachments are no longer available. Please check and re-attach any missing files.
EDIT: Apparently the issue got fixed?

I got the same message, for no apparent reason I couldn't attach a photo with a simple name like abc.jpg. I posted the message and then edited the post and it worked.

Interestingly enough I also managed to edit my post above and link to the hosted image..

Also if you mention BSOD. If you look In the “help with cpu-z“ thread, I was trying to post a BSOD image I got when trying to start CPU-Z. The forum was blocking my image stating that basically “meme (reaction images) were not permitted in these forums.” I somehow got it to eventually accept the screen cap though it was a bit strange to see that error. There must be some auto-mod logic that searches posts for key words? But I specifically got the error only when I uploaded the image and tried to submit the post. I was just trying to help the developer out with a screen cap of the error, not posting a BSOD meme. 😜
appiah4 wrote on 2020-02-12, 09:35:The only PCI card that I need/want now is a Savage4.
Me too. Some time around the year 2000 I had a secondary system, based on the AOpen AP5S and a Pentium 200 non-MMX (still have the board and CPU in storage). The graphics card used to be some sort of S3 Virge and I wanted to throw in something more powerful. So I got the Diamond Viper V550 PCI (TNT), only to find that the system wouldn't POST. So I returned the Viper and got a Creative S3 Savage4, CT6850, which worked well, but was quite a bit behind the TNT performance-wise.
Unfortunately I don't have the Savage4 any more, probably it was scrapped together with a box of other stuff some time between 2006 and 2010, a few years before I really got into retro computing.
Now I am looking for decently priced CT6850 just because of the nostalgia, but they show up rarely and are usually priced at >50€, which I find is too expensive for a card that I wouldn't use on a regular basis. Guess I'll just wait 😄
some random stuff ^^
MA5ASOUND Avance Logic ALS100 and a WD MFM ESDI controller (finally with cables ^^)
Aztech Sound Galaxy NX PRO 16 and a very intriguing EIZO AA41 (CAD accelerator?) card
and this very nice Videologic (Genoa?) GrafixStar 500 S3 Vision868 VLB card :3
Very nice, Imi 😉
Do you have drivers for that EIZO card?
You should double check the MFM controller if its really MFM/RLL and not ESDI before connecting a drive to it...
Genoa box doesn't belong to the video card (no connection/affiliation between Genoa and VideoLogic). There is a picture of the original box some several hundred pages ago.

thanks for the heads up, it looks like this is indeed a ESDI controller ^^ good eye
unfortunately I do not have any drivers for the EIZO card, and I didn't find a lot of info about it in general, but I did get the perfect card to go along with it eventually a while ago ^^

yeah, I figured as much... but the funny thing is that I only found this listing because I was specifically looking for Genoa cards x3

Sounds like a reason for refund 😀 Just kidding, I know you are better than that.
Got (another) box of RAM today - mainly PS/2 and PC100 SDRAM. Really need to get something up and running to test the 300+ RAM modules I have now.
//edit:
Attachments don't work, so no picture.

Interesting - It doesn't look like a typical TIGA card. The piggy back ISA connector is likely for an optional EGA or VGA card - This card probably doesn't do any standard PC modes or DOS text modes.

I've got Win3.1 drivers for Spectragraphics cards. Can't attach anything here, however.

Why do you even think this is a TIGA card? I'm pretty sure it's a VGA card supporting the DGIS api, because that's what Spectragraphics was known for.

that'd be awesome, thank you, maybe could upload them somewhere.
I think the card can just interface through the normal feature connector too.
it'd be interesting to know which software supports it too... I think I have an old acad R12 somewhere.

well, I'm not complaining ^^
This time it apparently worked. 😀
I present to you my latest acquisition, the ultimately pointless Ageia PhysX. Don't really know why, but I'm attracted to this type of acceleration cards.

Now, where shall I put this thing ? P4 or C2D ?
Probably I may go with a 680i +C2D and a 7800gtx that I have laying around. what do you think ? Is it even worth the hassle ?
PS: Having the "Reaction image posts are off-topic on VOGONS." problem ... does anyone has it too ? Or am I doing something wrong ?

Seems to be a recent issue. Some users reported success by editing the post and adding the images afterwards.

The workaround seems to fix the issue. Obrigado (thanks) !
