But then you need a Pentium III board with Rambus so you can do a full comparison.

You selling? 😁

HAH. I've only got one and I have plans for it. Shipping would be crazy expensive anyway.

It's a neat platform to play around with and it makes a great win 2000 system

I also have a 478 with RAMBUS so I could compare the two. Wife's gonna kill me.

Say it's in the name of science.

I know just kidding. I don't expect one to turn up here anytime soon. I'm lucky if I get this one.

I used up my science points with my last Pentium Pro. Luckily she collects orchids so I'll just bribe her with that.

Buy her a bag of bat guano, some orchids are batshit crazy.

Got some ram's today (again). Actually, the seller only wanted return shipping for them, so I took them off his burden...

Can't read the chips on the Kingston Value RAM, but I bought some KVR "800" and it turned out they were 533 class chips, they do DDR2-800, but not a hair over.

Well, I pulled the trigger on it, I'm officially insane.
It's an ASUS P4T (seller's picture).

Well cool, now I feel like I've got company, I might drop $80 CDN on a locally advertised box of junk which has an AGP Radeon card, think it's HD2000 series, a 3.4Ghz S754, an Athlon II, a 1.2 Tualatin, a 775 P4 (meh ), two mysterious motherboards (possibly for the AII and the Tually), a laptop DVD drive, and a whole C2D laptop. Been trying to make it add up to 80 though, I might have paid $10 for each of three CPUs, $10 for the AGP, $30 for the laptop and $5 for the drive.... so those motherboards better be worth $2.50 each or I'm getting scammed.

It comes with a Willamette 1.4 and 2x128 MB RAM. I have more options though so that's not a problem. I'll play a lot with this one.

Nice that'll be a fun little platform to play with.

Guess I'll get this too. Will my s478 Willamette CPUs work with this adapter? I have most of them from 1.4 - 2.0 (Pentiums and Celerons).

Got myself one of these, which arrived today -

2z8DaeBh.jpg

A Sanyo MPC-100 MSX 1 computer. The first MSX in my collection.

Was sold spares/repairs with keyboard issues, such as repeating keys and a wonky M key. I had an idea before I bought it what the issue might be, so I opened it up and simply repeatedly tapped the keyboard from the backside in the area of the stuck key. Plugged it in, turned it on and bingo, the computer is 100% in perfect working order, all keys fully functional. Judging by the dust and debris both outside and inside the computer, it just all needs a good cleaning, including the keyboard membrane. The wonky key should be fixable too, just have to remove the key and straighten it back up.

All in all, I'm quite happy with the newest addition to my collection. 😎 Just testing the waters at the moment, going to be loading games from .cas tape images before getting 1 of the addon cartridges later in the year (probably the MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD). I may even consider an MSX2 or MSX2+ in the future.

Another one of these SCSI external CD-ROMs.. this time it came with the ridiculously hard to find PCMCIA cable. Only $15 too! Now I can use it with my old laptops,or use a HD50 to DB25 cable for my other retro computers that have SCSI.
