I can confirm that. Ctrl+Alt+Del warm boot doesn't work when in protected mode.
However, I suppose I can just use the reset switch if I want to reboot.
Otherwise, I can probably fall back to revision 3.06 but, then I have the y2k bug again.

Other than fail Y2K tests, does the Y2K bug really affect anything?

Probably not.
I actually decided to revert back to BIOS revision 3.06 and, based on system board tests I've performed, the BIOS (and DOS) are keeping the correct date and time.

I reckon v3.07 was just a quick and dirty fix done with a generic hack for Award BIOSes during the Y2K craze.
