Also comes in the SECC2 cartridge instead of the older one with the plate between the CPU and the heatsink.
How about performance wise, say, in games - Windows 9x ones - does this difference affect any components in a game? I guess, there'll be no difference in dos games.
Katmai was released at 450Mhz (maybe except for those mobile mini cartridges) though a P2-450 also exists.
And also the last P2's also came with the half-open cartridges. I'm not sure if Katmai was ever released in the full boxy package.
And yes, the main difference between Deschutes and Katmai is SSE...and of course that processor unique ID number Intel later abandoned after lots of bad press about it 😜
And grats on your unlocked find Malik! 😉
I'm pretty sure SSE doesn't matter a whole lot for 9x era games, particularly the older ones. SSE only got used more often after Katmai's release.
But one thing puzzles me still...why does the cache get disabled at the 2x multi?
Is it somekind of Intel testing thingy or something? Or a technology Intel wanted to use on it's mobile variants to reduce power consumption? I'm just guessing 🤣
Edit:Bleh, that time already?!? Time for me to hit the sack! 😜
Stupid Ebay, L O L 😜
Anyway, I finally got some stuff coming 😁
The other thing to note on the ooposite end of things is that you can run an unlocked Klamath at 133mhz and upwards bus speeds using a lower multi - sort like an early Extreme Ed chip. 333mhz at 133x2.5 anyone?:pppt:
It seems that SL264(233) can be downclocked too.
