Got a slight problem not that big of a slag really. now the problem is the cdrom in my 486 stopped working have tried a few drives / cables and still same problem take note in another machine these units works as expected

staring from a win98se floppy loading the cdrom drivers can see it sees a unit but fails on PCI Failed configuration ( this drive worked 100% before only thing that changed was the hard drive in it configured exactly as previous installed drive )

have tried the vide cdrom driver and that one also says no cdrom found but it hangs the boot process the moment it says no drives found. removing the drive and then booting continues the boot process. have tried different jumper configurations as well the see of that might solve the problem
