Electronics Guessing game , can anyone identify missing components on this Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 440-SE with black pcb?
I think it is Sapphire.....
There a re markings on the PCB for everything C=capacitor, R=resistor, L=inductor... Look for a list of these abbreviations. Do you have any specific component in mind? Also note that not everything was necessarily populated, for example the components near the missing connector (DVI?) were not there in the first place.
Doesn't look like any components are bashed off at least on the front. Any empty spots look like they were never populated.
Give that edge connector a clean, that could stop the card working.

The black pcb (made in Taiwan ) GF4 MX 440-SE
it gives out a Not optimum mode : recommended mode 1280x1024 60hz (after recap)
so not sure what that means. (What else could be broken on it? first had black screen before recap)
