Wow nice ! Wonder if I could do that with the Asus P5G41T-M LX? would be faster than a Q9650 🤣

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

This board is specified for cpu's with a max. TDP of 95W.

It will be a significant stress test for the vrm if you are pushing the X5470....
Better match would be here a E5440 or E5450 with 80W.

As the Xeon 5xxx family has SMP capability, you now need to wire up a 2nd socket somehow 😉

I'm pretty sure, that of all users here, Sphere478 would be one to take that challenge 🤣

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

If you do not need 4 cores then maximum at 2 cores and defualt setting is 3.5GHz with X5270.
Why there was no Core2Duo E8700 Wolfdale E0 if there is Xeon X5270 Wolfdale E0 @ 3.5GHz?
