Didn't buy this retro stuff today, spotted at Value Village, Fennel Ave, Hamilton if anyone interested. Was there 3 hours ago as of this post. Rage II+ DVD PCI, BrookTree AMC riser Tuner card for that (analog, ISA mechanical support and power), two PCI wifi "G" cards. External HDD unknown capacity was probably a PATA 3.5 inside I think, not 100% though. Those were all on the small electrical shelves, then there was also a system unit on the larger items top shelf, HP something or other, mATX case I think, C2D 4200 or something like that, not sure if it was worth sticking a quad in but $9.99 and you get a case and spare junk.

I have a couple AGP X1950s I need to test, @PcBytes how did you reflow the bridge chip?

Simple, just put some flux around the edges that do not surround the golden fingers, and then reflow it at around 350*C for very slightly over a minute, in my case.

The card I have is already working, in my "Skynet HT" build. Absolutely a blast to play Mashed: Drive To Survive and Ford Racing 2 so far, and am looking forward some more racing games that would utilize this card's full potential (and maybe some GTA San Andreas action as well.)

I have a newer BIOS I need to dump and take pics in the future.
Came with a Trio64V+ and a noname brand ISA soundcard.
P-II 350 + 128MB of ram (64+32+32).

Also got an Asrock K7VTA PRO, but it's not powering on.
Sempron 2800 and 2GB of DDR are ok.

Check the Winbond SIO. If it heats up quickly, it's dead. Had one die that way for no reason, especially as the PSU tested fine.

Picked this up for one of my high end XP/early Windows 7 dual boot systems, either the 1366 or Sandy Bridge PC will get it. Haven't tested it yet but it was sold as working so hopefully that's the case.

I found a missing cap on the back in the cpu NB.

Edit: hopefully it's a 1000nF like the others around. Need to find one, let's go fishing in my dead stuff pool 😀

It's a MIDI interface with intelligent mode support, so it's ideal for using with modules like the Roland MT-32 and CM-series. It also has a wavetable header, so it can be used with internal wavetable daughtercards as well.

When I see Intel D865 boards with a Pentium 4 3GHz processor for $10 at auctions, I just have to buy them. It's the best retro pc base for DOS and Windows 98 in my opinion. Fast, stable and hassle-free.

I tend to take any Dell Dimension 4600s I see at the recyclers for this reason. Basically the same board and features, in an easy to work on and non-ugly Dell microATX case. they aren't as prone to cap plague as earlier models were. I clean them out and replace the heatsink with a copper one, and it's a turnkey DOS/98/XP multiboot PC that runs almost everything you can throw at it.

God brand new e-DImensional Stereo glasses (predecessor to nVidia 3D Vision, both work the same way, except 3dVision requires Windows Vista and GF8 as a minimum and doesnt work with CRTs) and a barely used Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro.
Both work like a charm, here with Starlancer under Windows ME.

Saw this really clean looking pair of XFX Geforce 7950GT GPUs going cheaply as a matched pair, they look almost new with little signs of wear and tear on them.

Both have been tested as working so I guess Ill find out if that's actually true when they arrive, they should fit a QX9650 + XFX 790i SLI board rather nicely.

Today i finally got in my hands a decent KVM (Aten CS-84A) which was pretty much required between the work PC, the old one for general use and the retro one;
The keyboard and mouse emulation finally solves my issues at boot.
Also this thing is built like a tank.

Drove 45 minutes today to get this Macintosh SE/30. I was so relieved when I cracked it open and found an intact battery instead of an exploded mess. Needs cap repair but they pretty much all do at this point.
