I don‘t know why but there are versions with different prints. The date code from my CPU with IDT logo is CW37/99. The date code from the CPU here with WinChip logo is CW30/99

I really don't get the point of faking a bad card like the 6200 but it's a fun story !
Low-end card such as the 6200 are really a thing that disappeared in the last 10 years.
With GPU integrated in CPUs, there is (almost) no need for low-end cards. Multi-screen for business was really the last relevant use for these.

I wish - I got a desktop to bring home.
Even some more modern motherboards still have just 2 video outputs with very limited choice of ports (like one of them being DVI, which many monitors dont support these days), so I can still see some companies installing some cheap cards just to have a good port selection, even if it's just for 2 screens.
But yeah, the demand for these low end cards in nowhere near what it's been.

Weirdness, you wouldn't be in Canada would you? It looks a bit like the reseller label I saw on a TNT M64, which while having it's manufacturer part number intact had a label saying it was a TNT2 Ultra. So I'm wondering if there was a large PC store that was big enough to have this custom labeller, but also either couldn't ID GPUs for crap or was deliberately deceptive.
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Could be sticky heads, or worn out main bearing. It might help to jolt it sideways on power-on, this works sometimes. Also make sure your PSU 12V line is not sagging, these old clunkers require 4A or even more to overcome the still platter inertia. It's just a spike of current, but if the 12V line is below or just barely in spec it might not be enough to wake up an old, tired drive like this.
Another ABIT score, a IP35 Pro XE + Q6700 + 4x2GB Zeppelin sticks, for around 72.58USD.
Takes a few tries to boot from the x16 slot tho, not sure why. Mostly stays on POST 90 if populated x16 slot, boots normally if x4 slot is populated instead of x16.

No I'm not in Canada, lots of cheap counterfeit cards were imported here back in early 2000 specially counterfeit GF2 MX 400 cards, they were either sis315 or savage 2000 cards.
even counterfeit TNT m64 card with sis 305 chip. 🤣

Wow, faking budget cards, the profit potential seems minimal, was it some export restriction or something that original ones simply couldn't get into the country??
IDK if this is really hardware, but topped up my CD-R supply with a partial box from VV, two bucks for about 60... I have been chipping away at a 100 pack of no-name computer show special disks for decades and they are finally running low, they have had amazing compatibility etc considering how low end they were, maybe 2 coasters ever, I have coastered more out of individual jewel cased ones which were in theory better. Anyhoo, what I've got now are these Philips 700mb 80min 52x silver deallies so I hope they are alright.

Bought this HP Pavilion zv5000 at a yard sale for $10 and was very pleasantly surprised to see it's fully working.
I think the hinges might be a bit weak on those, so be careful with it. Otherwise, nice score. I am also a sucker for sub $30 laptops.

- Epox EP-4PLAI-A/R9550 PC - @evasive you're gonna receive a BIOS dump from it if it works, as well as I'll be digging whatever updates are available for it!
- Athlon II X4 640 CPU - only bought because I have way too little AM3 chips on hand. Dunno if it's unlockable by any kind of way.
