Just took a gamble on 10 2GB and 1 8GB CF cards for 32 Euro shipped... I really hope they like to boot from IDE.

2GB should be a nice size to work in most of my systems.

Yes they work fine, I've got a couple of those. Early WD Blue SSD. 😉

With CF cards, when I don't setup them correctly in BIOS, I get "no boot device" or "not valid boot device" in different languages.
Only formatted. They were in different thin clients, thus paid next to nothing.

Only real issue so far is the 512MB limit on up to 386 PCs.

One thing I do is to clone them for DOS only machines.

Perfect! I already use some SanDisk and noname Industrial CF cards as HDD replacements and they make handling data transfer so much more easy.

I have that too sometimes. I think the system tries to read the master boot record and fails. But it has read enough to generate a error message from the language it once was...
I set up my cf cards in either the system i want to use them or similar systems . I have the best results when i Fdisk/Format them in actual retro hardware instead of my modern system.

From my first PDA i still have a 64MB and 512MB CF card. I should try them in my 386.

If there's a MR BIOS for your 386, then this (504MB) limit is not the case. 😉 (XT-IDE, EzDrive, OnTrack can help with existing bioses)
I have M321 board with MR BIOS and it works great with 4GB CF card. (Because i use FAT16, it has roughly 2+2GB partitions)

I ordered two motherboards that I had been wanting for quite a while now.. I paid around 20 bucks each, which is kind of my limit for how high I will go, but they were really things I lacked in my collection and wanted badly. I'll post photos when they arrive..

Hello, I am new here, this is my todays finding

Oh dang. I am currently looking for this board exactly to rebuild my first ever pc (486 sx 25, 4mb ram, 4x Sanyo cd, Aztech sb clone, 1MB CL card - after the onboard broke) prices for this board are crazy on eBay. Lucky find even though this was 4 years ago.

found a Biostar mb8433uud v2 for 130€ on eBay and had to get it. Had a broken trace on the back that was easily fixed. Other than that the quality is pretty good. Replaced this battery-fixed Dallas that was already socketed (yay) and put in an nw12887 replacement and soldered in JP17. Board works like a charm and will replace my FIC PIO2 which does not like s3 virge dx cards under win 3.1. Now I need to find out how to run the Biostar at 50 or 60MHz FSB with a well cooled 5x86 p75. This runs fine at 40MHz fsb and 160MHz but won’t post with 50 or higher.

🤣 yes, 504MB. So used to RAM 😀
Absolutely, but I'm a lazy a$$ with those.
It's so hot right now I can only type on my keyboard.

Got another Socket 3 board (ECS UM486V) and an Intel DX4-100 overdrive chip.

Probably going to use this for another multi-sound card experimental build. Given the generally unobstructed slots on this board, hoping I can cram 6 sound cards into it.

I have a board that looks a lot like that, except the CPU socket is off-white. Got it NOS and MR BIOS is awesome on it.

Bought a this rather nice bit of kit the other day, a Abit BX133-Raid with a P3 1Ghz and 768Mb of PC133 ram, board is fully tested, also grabbed an internal LS120 drive that was going cheaply its also fully tested. Been after a BX133 or BE6 II R2 for a while and neither have been listing for a reasonable price. The BE6 II especially seem to list at stupid prices, its not any better than a P3B-F but out prices that board by quite a bit, but this BX133 kit wasn't too bad price wise seeing as it was fully tested by the seller.

I have a suitably large case for it too that can accommodate a good number of drives, have always wanted to try my hand at building a large raid storage server from all the older HDDs I have sitting around, I have a Promise SX6000 Supertrack card that would add quite a few more HDD channels too.

So many options heh, going to be fun finally getting to play with this rather legendary board !

IIRC that P3 1Ghz is the fastest official CPU it supports but I have a Tualeron 1400 with modded interposer from that Korean seller .. I wonder if itll work in this board.

Nice board! But pretty ironic the cooler has an AMD branded fan 🤣

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

Yes 🤣, I saw that before I bought it and was like .. do I bother changing the cooler ... its pretty damn funny and the cooler performs just fine 462 and 370 pretty much used the same coolers and this one has a copper core. (I do like the holo sticker AMD used, Its gonna stay I think)

Bought a very poorly described Slot 1 Mainboard today, for 10€ + shipping. After a bit of puzzling I found the part number on one of the pictures:

Apparently it's a Soyo SY-6BA+ IV , which supposedly is a pretty good 440BX Board.
According to the seller it doesn't post, but I'm hoping to repair it, maybe even a recapping is all it needs. Can't wait for it to get here!

….or maybe just a battery replacement and a settings reset ….often works wonders. Good luck 🍀

I got this thin client - Futro S900n.
Turned out to be fantastic for Windows XP! With a dual-core processor and Radeon HD 6320.
It has all the drivers for Windows XP. Interestingly, the performance is very similar to my childhood computer, i.e. athlon xp 2.5 and radeon 9600, phenomenal for me 😀 Radeon is working nicely with windows XP. I've tried many games from 1998-2004 - all working great.

😀

That was quite fast shipping...
I think 2,90€ per card wasnt too expensive.
Sometimes small things make me really happy 😁 ...

that's pretty good! lots of potential installs easy to swap and test there with cf to ide, 2gb is fine for most dos and early 9x setups too, even after adding quite a bit of software

back in the day, when software installs were modest, one could really cram libraries of software into 2gb 😀

You can always connect two cf cards in same time. I think you can live with 2x2gb up to 2000's
btw , Silicondrive are great SLC ( single layer) industrial cards. They are far far better than any "normal" mlc or tlc

Nice catch! I got 3 of them and they are the fastest 440BX socketed boards - the slot 1 equivalent is BE6-II 2.0! I would not use 768mb of RAM - 512mb is more than enough for 98SE!
