Coincidentally, just a few minutes ago, I posted on my page, something about the ASUS P5Q PRO, I just have a slightly misaligned pin, maybe there's no need to fix it, but I'll see what I can do, as a CPU, initially I should use a Core2 Duo E4600, which I had mounted on the Linux PC, and which I later changed with an E4700 2.60@3.00GHz, we will see if the card starts without problems, later I will change the CPU with a C2Q E8300 at 2.5 GHz, which I could certainly more overclock a little.

The quads are a bit more sensitive to missing ground and power pins than duos, so tweak as many as you can straight.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

"Untested".

But as it turns out like - actually.

After I got it home (this was testing at my work, where we have a box of abandoned PSU's - holding a headphone against my crackberry) I hooked it up to the World's Worst Recording Studio, ran Rosegarden on one monitor and Ardour on the other; and recorded a couple proper tests.

https://inthe.study/stuff/cosmo.mp3

So yeah - that works, and works perfectlt. No battery leakage, or any damage at all - but I do need to email the guy at our partner org I send hardware repairs to, and ask him to replace the very dead battery with a holder before it DOES leak. Does anyone know the right part to drop in to an MU50's battery pads, to hold a CR232?

Thank you very much friend, there is only one slightly crooked pin, it's a minimal thing, it could make contact or not, I'll try to fix it anyway, I hope that pin is not essential, and therefore if the contact isn't perfect, it still works .
However, for those who want to take a look, you can find the images on my page, here on Vogons:

Since it's originally specified for LGA775 and LGA1366, I call "retro" on the Cooler Master V10 "hybrid air cooler". It came, however with a bracket, that also finely fits the LGA115x of my daily driver i7-9700 ... Might wanna slap it on there ...

It's a 10 heat pipe aircooler, except 4 of the heat pipes are attached to a TEC module, which is controlled to avoid condensation etc., giving extra cooling performance. (well according to reviews back then it's something like 0.5-1.5 degree C 🤣 ) I bought it for being an abomination of over-engineering. Loving it!

[Edit] Should've put a banana for scale, as its sheer size doesn't really show ... But to give an idea - the visible fan is a 120 mm one 😁 [/edit]

Wow, that's utterly ridiculous... I want one 🤣 ... I kinda feel like it would put me on a quest to find a C2Q that would run at 5ghz though 🤣

I ordered this CPU today, it is a P4 2600 400, socket 478, I plan to use it in a MB ASUS P4B266, which I will repair soon, later I will see if it is possible to make it run at almost 3 GHz, without overvolts, I already have a P4 2800 400 478, on a PC with SDRAM, but this could go a little faster, because the P4B266 uses DDR, in the meantime I'm waiting for it to arrive, I have time to change the capacitors, and test the card.

Hmm...

I remember reading somewhere that the Apollo 693A/596B are supposed to be pin compatible with the 440BX (or ZX, same thing really)/PIIX4, so that vendors could use the same design for both solutions changing only the bios.

Hmm...

It's definitely not a sticker? 😁

I've noticed QDI P3 boards always have a sticker covering up the VIA southbridge, presumably in an effort to hide the chipset from the discerning but not too discerning customer of the day.

duh.

I dunno if this counts since a mate of mine gave it to me. But since he had an Australian pair of Roland MA20s he wanted to declutter so he gave me his spare pair of japanese voltage rated roland MA20s.
