Bargain 🤣

Seconded.

Btw shock, I noticed you live in NRW. Do you happen to live anywhere near Warstein by any chance? 😉

Actually one of the guys over at the dosforum made a f-ing bargain. A boxed GUS ACE + SB 2.0 + DX2@40Mhz + board + 2 floppy drives for $30.

About Warstein ... somewhat ... but would still be a 2-3 hour travel by train. Why do you ask?

VooDoo5 3dfx 5500 64mb AGP
-snip-

This alone makes the buy worth the risk imo.
I once spend that amount on the card alone!

Lol, where are you getting this stuff?!?
I got LOTS of SDRAM, but only ONE bar of PC-133 cl2!
(Also got 2 bars of 8MB EDO ns-50...but whats the point of a retro rocket with only 16 megs of ram heh 😁).

The V5 is supposed to be working along with the Audigy 2. I have seen some crazy prices on ebay and paid $50 for my first V5 5500AGP on there.

As for the ram, I got it on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem … e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Those are for 2x256MB. He also has a listing for single sticks, but it is a better deal for 2 sticks at a time. Funny thing about this ram is that is not overclocked PC-133MHz ram, and the first few revisions of the ram cannot do PC-150 @ CL2. I have no idea what revisions I'm getting yet, should be here in another week or so.

As I've not been much into EDO memory I have only recently bought 2x32MB Kingston sticks 60ns though, using 1 for my SIMMCONN adapter for my SB AWE64 Gold! Also need to test an old SB AWE32 I have and order some 30pin simms for that.

As my systems go, I'll only go back to a Super7 Jetway board that supports SDRam and EDO slots, will only populate the SDRams though as I have alot of them. Think I could build this system with a K6-2 550MHz I have, a TNT2 32MB (I would use a TNT1 16MB but the enviroment has damaged it 🙁) and a Voodoo 1 4mb. It gonna be on a back burner for some time though as I don't have room to build multiple PC's in cases 😁

Going to draw a schematic from it? 😁

Didn't IBM cards come with a full scheme back then? I know there are for the 5150 mainboard, as well as basic flowcharts for the IBM PSUs from back then. If there's actual interest ... why not. Only problem, the IMFC is full with custom chips and is quite large even as a production style PCB.

Maybe it was published somewhere else but the technical reference doesn't include a schematic, only a block diagram (it was available here: IBM Music Feature Card/Yamaha FB-01 , I have a copy if you like)
From a picture on the internet it doesn't seem to have a lot custom chips to me - the schematic request was more meant as a joke though. But you could put it on a scanner so we can see it in high-resolution glory 😀

Added to my horde is the Alliance Semiconductor Promotion AT3D. It's sister chip, the AT25, is used in 3dfx Voodoo Rush boards. I never knew of this stand alone chip.

Quick preview: With it's 3D moniker, it's gonna rock poly's.
Quick review: This card makes Virge look good.

Well well well, then you see nothing special for months on end (except on Ebay of course!)...and then you see this in a second hand store...
Badly scratched, but there was NO WAY I was not buying it for €2,50!
