Baby-AT Slot1 boards are really damn hard to find, and reputable brands even more so.

If you ever need a 'NEW' boxed/unused spare (or NINE...?) : http://www.ebay.com/itm/400504376709

Canopus Pure 3D

Found it on eBay. This is a 6MB version of a 3dfx Voodoo card. Most vendors used the standard 4MB. It came with the manual, driver CD, and the 9 pin VGA pass through cable. Also found the decal sitting in one of the pages of the manual!

would you mind measuring the canopus vga-loop cable pin connections? I don't have one anymore and it's the same kind of loop cable which also matches the miro hiscore 3d cards

Schlang, what exactly are you wanting measured? I've got one here that I got with my Pure3D a few weeks ago. Overall length is 18", cable length is 14.5".

Retro: Kind of together: P3 | ASUS P3B-F | Canopus Spectra 2500 | Canopus Pure3D II SLI | (sometimes a Voodoo 5 AGP) | SoundBlaster AWE32|

Also got a MPU-UPC-T in the mail here in NY today. Works great in my 80286 Leading Technology AT5000 with my FB-01 and Silpheed.

Also got MS-DOS 6 Upgrade on 5.25" diskettes so I upgraded the same machine from 4.01 to 6.0. It has a 5.25" HD FDD as A: and 3.5" HD FDD as B:. I replaced the 5.25" HD FDD with a TEAC (I dislike round LEDs) and installed a 3.5" HD FDD as it came without one. That machine now has a MPU-IPC-T and CT1600. Only 1 ISA slot left: probably for a LAN card at some point. I just dread having BNC cables all over the place. I may have to go the route of a HUB with a BNC (to connect my PS/2 Model 30 8086) and then UTP the 16 / 32 bit machines. 😊

PS/2 Bear is now also part of the family! My oldest son likes him a lot already.

There are plenty of ISA ethernet cards with RJ45 connectors, and I'm sure at least some of 'em will work with a 286. As for your PS/2, if it has an AUI connector, you could just use a 10Base-T media converter on it. Then you wouldn't have to screw with thinwire at all.

I use a 3Com 3C509B-TPO in my Tandy 1000, works a treat.

Someone on Vintage Computer Forum patched the packet driver so you can use it with 8088+ systems.

BIOS upgrade on my Apollo chipset allows new P3 CPUs. Don't know to what speed so I bought all the high-end coppermines:
Intel Pentium III SL5QV (1GHZ/100) Coppermine

The AUI / BNC transceivers / converters are pretty expensive. I will just go for a BNC / UTP HUB instead and hook up a 8 BIT LAN card with BNC. 😊

Cool! Where do you find your equipment in NL?

Got an Everex Tempo 486/33C in yesterday evening. Pretty cool little machine. Slim line 5.25" HD FDD (that works). Installed a WD 210MB IDE HDD. Also installed a 3.5" HD FDD but need to get longer cable to support it. Replaced the Maxell 3.6V 1800MAH (dead: from 1991) with a Duracell 9V for the time being (tried 2 AAs but that did not work). 3.6V 1800MAH batteries are really expensive. The MOBO turns out to be a 80386 MOBO with a 80486 overdrive. It has 4MB RAM, 128KB cache and a i80486DX33. I installed a SB16 CT2230 ASP/CSP in it as well.

Turtle Beach (Voyetra) Montego DDL 7.1 (Aureal AU8820 Vortex) PCI (Boxed) (2005)

I think you got some details mixed up... that's not an Aureal Vortex card. It uses a C-media chip, and is pretty much unrelated to the 'old' Montego cards.

Thanks! I pulled it from the WIKI.

That Wiki article looks like it might be a case of somebody entering the right information in the wrong place. The Montego A3DXstream, which is listed immediately below the Montego DDL, is the AU8820-based card.

I think Turtle Beach Systems can also be partially blamed for having completely different cards with very similar names... 😒

How much did you pay for the Yamaha SW1000XG?
And is Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro IDE ISA any good?

$160 + $20 shipping to the US.

The Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro is a good alternative to the Sound Blaster/Sound Blaster Pro. It's got OPL3 (YMF262-M) + great compatibility (Adlib, Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro, Disney Sound Source & Covox). They are generally better shielded and less noisy than the sound blaster cards. I think it was originally from Germany if I'm not mistaken...??

You're going to love that Quadzilla. I managed to find one a few months back after searching for a long time. It's good that you got the driver CD with it because the Turtle Beach A3D cards with quad stereo don't work with the standard driver. They require a unique driver that enables quad stereo and activates the S/PDIF. With the standard driver, they only work like a normal Montego II.

Increasing my Super Socket 7 motherboard inventory:

WP_20131115_001_zpsb13d118a.jpg

This is quite an unknown one. Freetech/Flexus P5F103.

Had to remove BIOS chip and burn the BIOS upgrade manually. Now it supports K6 plus. 😎
