Grabbed a pair AMD K6-2+ chips. I found a 550mhz for really low BIN price, so I bought it figuring I wouldn't find one cheaper but a few days later I found one of those 570mhz ones in a no reserve auction for an even lower price so I threw the minimum bid at it expecting not to win but I won anyway. With shipping, the 570 was only about $2 more than the 550. The 550 cost me $13.99 with shipping and the 570 cost me $15.99. I wish I could find a III+ faster than 450mhz, but haven't seen one for a really long time that I would consider paying the sellers asking price for.

Ah the memories this brings back! The only thing better than this would be owning an actual DeLorean 😀

P.S. 'Place inline' bloody thing still doesn't work for me.

This makes me nervous about my pair of untested 8mb creative Voodoo 2's that have been stored together in a single anti-static bag for 10 years 😳

Don't be too worried 😀 the three V2s in the box of mayhem I bought are fine... except for a driver issue with the Guillemot Maxi Gamer card.

Snapped up another pair of Virtual i-O i-glasses on eBay recently, this time with the PC interface box I need to actually use these things the way I want to.

Expect some tests with all the games I know to support the head-tracker and possibly stereo 3D rendering modes to be dumped in this old thread when it arrives.

games w/head mounted display support/head tracking??

What I'm really hoping for down the road will be some kinda VR DOSBox that can emulate the VFX1 or i-glasses' head-tracking systems while presenting those old games' S3D rendering modes in a format suitable to a modern VR headset like the Oculus Rift.

Looks like a CPU cooler, chassis fan and PCI-slot fan/fan controller that might also have a PSU built into it. "Installs in under 90 seconds" sounds rather ambitious though, considering you have 3 different things to fit AND thermal compound to spread over the CPU!

I've have same card in 2001.Radeon 64DDR VIVO, cost me about 150$. But card is great. Modern drivers detect it as Radeon 7100, if I'm remember correct.

I bought the 64 VIVO when it came out in 2000 I think. Paid like $300.

I think it is a peltier cooler. Been a long time since I've seen people talk about them.

That was my guess as well, with a dedicated power supply for the peltier.
Fun thing to play with, the cost was only $10 with shipping.

It has not arrived yet and I diddnt Google the cooler so its just a qualified guess 😀

The latest find.

3*2GB DDR2 + 7*1GB DDR2 + some PCI-E video card (likely a GF7300) + some AGP card (likely a GF6200) + two DVD writers. $7 for the lot.

New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.

Bought this motherboard and I'm waiting for the postman 😉

$_12.JPG

Its a M396F V2.6 with TX 486slc 33MHz and 4MB ram. It almost exactly the same as I had in 1993. This was on my wishlist for sometime and it was quite expensive for my taste 25€ + postage. But wishlist is a wishlist 😊

Requests are also possible... /msg kixs

Second Armada M700 arrived today, hope it doesn't have the problems that the first one did (seems like the battery on the first one was a bit weird). Definitely works, and the only obvious issues is a slightly blemished screen (will switch them) and the dead CMOS battery... the problems only appeared last time after I swapped the CMOS battery, so guess I'll wait and see!

That board is awesome! I have one with a 386SX AMD processor and it performs on the level of a 386DX 25 MHz. It's hands down my favourite board. So clean and simple. And perfect for these speed sensitive games.

Yours has a better processor I believe. I'm always on the lookout but prices are unreal at the moment. I never saw a cheap one again. The one I got was from Eastern Europe and the seller just stuck it in a bubble envelope. Couldn't believe it. It still works though. I de-soldered the old battery and put in a new one that is rechargeable.
