Well... That's me broke for a while;

About damn time! Woohoo! SPEA Media FX... So equivalent to what, an S2000? Adequate for me. Also now I have a place for my MKE CD-ROM to live as it seemed a bit slow for my K5 - this is for a 486 Pentium OverDrive build, the same one that is going in that black case. This will let me go overboard with IDE hard drives or most likely a bunch of CF cards I expect as most of my mechanical drives are old and sick so I have been questioning for a year now if buying more is a good idea.

2MB ET4000-W32P with a Viper video processor onboard. The pic isn't the one I got though it's the same, just the eBay image is crappy resolution.

Call me weird (call me raider, call me wrong, call me insane, call me Mr. Vain) I think the design of this one is art to be honest, some hi-res images exist here; http://vgamuseum.ru/gpu/tseng-labs/spea-video … -showtime-plus/

I'm getting good vibes from this build already, I think I'm gonna like this machine a lot.

Got myself a complete PC for $5. The specs are far from impressive, it's a P166MMX in some cheapo 430TX board, 32MB SDRAM, S3 Trio64V2/DX with 4 RAM sockets, two of which are populated. I bought it mainly because of the case. It's a crocodile type desktop with 2-digit MHz display that actually says "MHz" after digits! It's in nice shape, the only drawbacks are yellowed front and lost rubber pads. It's also got a nice L-shaped AT PSU and a 5.25" drive!

I think I'm going to use this case for a 386 build in the distant future and sell the mobo\CPU\RAM set for small money to someone who needs this stuff, I've got too much already.

Do you think you will go the retrobrite route, Racoon?

keropi, he barks whenever a stranger appears behind the door, so yes, he's well trained 😀

badmojo, yeah I once had a speaker wire cut in two by such a thing! It's a mixture of rare occasion and crappy cable though.

QBiN, retrobright is too expensive for Russian customers, it means shipping overseas and paying in foreign currency. Both double the price of any item. I'll try Vanish OxiAction, it seems to have pretty much the same components and I've heard it's good for this stuff.

I always use white spirit because it's cheap... Though if the plastic is the wrong composition you can irreversibly make it look very ugly.

Yes, this is Ensoniq S-2000. Compare to Ensoniq Elite - elite has effects and sound bank a bit more interesting.
You can compare here, for example: http://kawai.spb.ru/files/sound/games/descent2.html

Do you have any idea, how to utilize Viper video processor?

You can use "Estel Oxigent 12%" or "Igora varioblond + royal 12%", you can find this in local shops on convenient price.

royal 12% is it for hairs? I've heard of 18% hair rebrighter on one of amiga forums for use this thing outdoor with sunlight.
liquid/paste+sunlight = plastic like-new brightness
(without any machanical or acid-like integration to restorated part)

in fact, all that you need for whitening - perhydrol in maximum available concentration (12-19%) in the form of a gel (which would not drain off), warm temperature (at least 15-20 degrees Celsius), and it is desirable to sunlight. So almost any oxigent to lighten hair in the form of a gel - a good solution.

chap & clever isn't it? it cost in my country about 1-2usd, actually I'm going to use it for the first time. I'll try it on not targeted piece just for test. Did you use it before? This solution doesn't leave any marks or imperfections in whitening? One time will be enough or need to do it partially?

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.20GHz 1MB AMD Socket 939 CPU for my A8n32-SLI Deluxe system. Currently I have a 1.8 ghz 512K chip in it. (Overclocked to 2.62 Ghz)

And yes I'm a cheapskate.. found someone selling one for $3.00, apparently that wasn't cheap enough for me... 🤣 so I put in an offer of $1.25 and they accepted. Total after shipping was $3.75. 😎

For testing isa cards and some experiments get an "Industrial Computer Source"
Compact industrial pc case, with power supply and 286 mobo single board computer (sbc)
20150308_215812.jpg.
About twice smaller, than usual desktop case. And front isa board is in front of your eyes.
20150308_215829.jpg.
Will plan replace 286 to 486 later (unfortunately prices for 486 sbc still high on ebay).

Not a purchase or anything like that, but my 640GB Western Digital hard drive has just gone past the 20,000 hour mark - without a single sector being marked as pending or reallocated. It's not been an OS drive for a couple of years, but I'm pretty sure 5k to 7.5k of those hours were from when it was an OS drive. It has survived numerous case swaps, two different power supplies (at least, one of which was cheap and crap, and liked to let the SATA power connector work loose from time to time) and two motherboards. And the computer being moved around 120 miles every three months or so for the last two years. WD built that drive properly.
