I had one of those groovy Vectras up until a couple of years ago, solid as a rock it was. I should have kept it. You could still get all the drivers for it - including DOS - on the HP website last time I checked too, which impressed me.

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

Intel has most of the drivers for their network adapters (even those integrated in to systems by other companies as onboard lan ports) even for dos, too. Some companies know how to keep data properly. A little FYI for people out there: instead of searching the intel download center, just search google for: <model#> site:intel.com You'll find stuff better and faster.

Yeah, HP's driver support is fantastic (and so, by extension, is Compaq's.) Toshiba and Dell are pretty good as well, although Dell's begins to falter around the Pentium 1 mark, at least with laptops.

Bought a couple of things today:

- a Asus P4P800-X new, unused in original box (tested it and it works great)

- unidentified baby-AT 286 motherboard with a Headland chipset, 12MHz AMD CPU and 1MB of ram. Just finished replacing the leaky barrel battery with a new one. Tested the board and it posts fine and remembers CMOS settings
- ISA TSENG ET3000AX ISA EGA/VGA combo board with 1MB of memory (witch is wierd because I remember these things came with 512k max)
- ISA Multi I/O controller by Evergreen Computer witch I can't get to work properly

I found and grabbed an AWE64 gold with its box for only €14. Manual seems to be missing, though.

Do not refrain from refusing to stop hindering yourself from the opposite of watching nothing other than that which is by no means porn.

Picked up some seriously retro stuff at the dump today...

Gonna have to dig out the old Atari for this small haul. Games will definitely need cleaning; might have to clean the paddles as well.

That one vintage computer enthusiast brony.

I know this is not retro.. it's only about a year old, or a little over that. But it is the newest thing to add to my collection of parts around here. So.. anyway, this is the newest addition to my house of stuff.

Where can you find those ATX to AT I/O panels?

@Private_Ops: I recall seeing a thread about ATX backplates for AT motherboards on VOGONS, can't seem to find it, but I do remember there was an eBay link or something.

I bought myself an AMD K6-3+ 400MHz ATZ from a Chinese seller on eBay who has a lot of them. Link.

Modgraph MG-3930 - tiny beautiful 9" color SVGA CRT monitor.
Bought new.
Maximum resolution is 1024x768, actually started from 800x600 is pain for eyes. 640x480 is ok.

Awesome! Strange though, I was just in the shop up the street and they still have these 9" VGA CRTs for their PoS machines and I was thinking
"I've got to get me one of these!"

That shop is modern for the ones around here, there are places I go that still use IBM 5170's with green screens, so I doubt these little color VGA ones will be tossed out for me to grab them any time soon, I think they only installed them (To replace gas plasma ones) a few months back.

Plan is to use it as an output in Vegas so I can preview what I am editing... Only I don't own one yet.
