Got this nice gigabyte ga-586ux atx formfactor socket 7 motherboard, with pentium 166mmx and the i/o bracket for 7,50 euro.
Nice thing of this board is the fact that the cpu isn't located behind the isa/pci slots, blocking the use of long cards.
At the same store i found discworld in a booklike box.

That one is cool 😀 Looks weird, low component count for an ATX board. Does it work?

Haven't tried it yet.
Need to find a spare pci graphics card. Don't want to risk my good one.

Most of the interesting stuff i see on marktplaats is usually located in Groningen or Friesland. To far to drive when living near Nijmegen.

A litte update on my haul:

Love those AT cases 😀

JPaKo1nl.jpg
Lots of room

yuA2NAAl.jpg
Unfortunately, CMOS battery is dead (understandable) and it's the Dallas RTC thing, so need to find out how to replace 😀 The board fails during post, but also does not respond to the keyboard (I tried two keyboards). Will have to troubleshoot before replacing the RTC.

This Compaq was stripped of cards, memory and CPU (the CPU was in a bag at the bottom of a box of cables, some bent pins 🙁)v

zknPMscl.jpg
Looks like a decent system. Lots of ISA and some PCI slots.

JitT11Vl.jpg
The smaller/older Compaq does still work.

PEz1AKKl.jpg
ISA only. Maybe I will combine the two Compaqs into one working system, with the newer one as the basis.

6ucSUrfl.jpg
VGA monitors also work, but due to space constraints I will have to get rid of one of the small ones. I'll have find out which one is better.

etcc4fol.jpg?1
The CDROM in the large AT case was connected to this little controller? with a connection for audio (probably just a looptrought of the audio out of the CDROM? Is this a common thing?

If you want to sell a monitor, perhaps i can buy it from you.

That COR cd-rom controller is used for sony kind of cd-rom drives.. They where used if there wasnt an interface on the soundcard section.

~ At least it can do black and white~

Got this baby, a Z180PC. Been playing with dos terminal programs connected to my daily driver Linux box via null-modem cable using a its irc clients.

There's a glitch in the matrix.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

Those 486 Prolineas are very robust little machines.

Awesome find, I am dying to find one of such towers to build my system in.
If I may ask where did you dig them up in the Netherlands?

This one was found on Marktplaats. Part of a large collection of computer 'junk'. When I saw the photo with the turbo button I was very interested 😀 You'll need to pick up stuuf like this yourself, almost impossible to ship. http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/computers-en-soft … inters-412.html

Sadly I live in the utter south near Maastricht.. not much offered in this region 😢

I got lucky!Just keep on looking, something might show up.

This all a bit new (probably pentium 4 and newer), put the price seems okay! http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/computers-en-soft … s-los-spul.html

It's unfortunately not a manual, but some kind of poster. There are however three discs not seen in the picture.

I've always been frustrated why the 865PE Neo2 has all the bells and whistles compared to the more expensive Neo2 Platinum which has no onboard firewire, two SATA ports and does not use an Intel chipset ethernet controller..

Got this in today, for free (except shipping costs, 7 euro):
Chaintech CT-7AJA0 (VIA KT133(A?)). With memory and AMD Duron 650 CPU.

MSI MS 8826, Geforce 2 MX400 w/ TV out.

And got some cheap new batteries in the supermarket. Does anyone have experience with quality differences in the CR2032 batteries? (8 for 85 cents is suspiciously cheap).

Diamond Stealth 64 VLB wwith S3 Vision964, 2MB VRAM (expandable to 4MB)

Been looking for a S3 Vision based VLB card with 4MB capability for some time! Will be interesting to see how it performs compared to the DRAM based 864.

<snip>

None of these are rechargeable so it doesn't matter. As long as they say cr2032 go with it. You might want to check em with a volt meter before popping em in though and make sure they still have 3.0v - 3.33v, I've bought some super cheap before that I guess had been sitting in a store for 10 years or something but they were all almost dead even though they were new in package.
