Pretty oldskool card arrived today.

TsengLabs ET3000AF 8-bit ISA:

I wonder if it will work in my 5160...

Nice! I actively collect Tseng Labs cards. My oldest are an ET1000 and an ET2000. I don't have an ET3000 that was actually assembled by them (your card was). It will work in any system with an ISA slot.

Well, had to stop buying as bought a couple of hundred vintage CPUs that will take me 2 months to finish paying. But will be buying more once those bills are cleared 😀

Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

Some one else pointed out that 2 High Voltage caps are missing on the front:

My Card:

Proper 9700 Pro

I don't see any possible way it will boot without those. Im also not sure where i would find those caps. Correct me if I'm wrong but im pretty sure those have something to do with powering the GPU core. My bet is power isn't even getting to the core correctly.

Bought this Barton. It is a 2600+
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/AMD-Athlon%2 … A2600DKV4D.html

It's a stepping AQYHA 0409 ... that means production at calender week 9 in 2004.

What i didn't know: Bartons from that time have already a fixed multiplier, even when then L1 bridges are closed...
😒

The T-Bred i have from late2002 / early 2003, has definitely a free multiplier. This was really better cause i was able to overclock 350 MHz to 433MHz without FSB increase.

Found cheap on ebay a Savage4 card. Don't really need it but it was so cheap as to being almost free, and I never used one so why not.

Nice X800, used to have an AGP Sapphire one some years ago and loved it. Reliable, though for some reason only ever seemed to work with Cattles**t 6.12. All other drivers caused weird graphical artifacts in the screen.

The 2600+ I'm all too familiar with aswell. Was my first (own) computer's CPU way back in 2002 in my Packard Bell i-Media 5075. Used the said X800 in that machine too though it was really carrying the rest of the aged hardware. It ran all the Valve games upto L4D2 back in the day aswell even had good FPS results too, albeit with slow load times. Amazing since Steam used to say it wouldn't work at all as my specs were apparently below the minimum requirements 🤣.

Il keep you posted. I'm in the process of moving out right now so it could be a while.

Thanks! I had no idea it was a TsengLabs card until it arrived, I just wanted a VGA solution for my IBM since CGA monitors are gold dust in the UK. And you can forget an EGA solution. I just hope this card supports CGA well enough.

I also found a geforce 256 from asus. I'll make some photos later, but today's best find for me is this ... (wich isn't hardware though) 1473608938-img-20160911-174423.png

The floppy version of windows 98 !! It's so rare that there was no dump of those for my country X)

While not as cool as chose007's stuff, I got his PowerPC Beige G3 from Craigslist for $20. Included 2 keyboards. Hell, just one keyboard is worth that price! Seems to work fine! The missing pram battery is a PITA, I seriously hate those things. But this is a REV 2 motherboard with a rev C rom. I'm quite pleased. Didn't come with a hard drive, but I just grabbed a bog standard ide drive and in 20 minutes I had OS 8.6 on it and running. I might do a build based off this machine. This machine is CLEAN and no signs of yellowing and I have enough parts now to do something nice. Definitely want to get a personality card for it at the bare minimum.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

MX chipset Rush cards are awesome. I have one myself and it's a lot nicer for older DOS games then the Alliance chipset versions.

Finally found an old Gateway 2000 Anykey at a thrift store! Been wanting one of these for years. It's got a PS/2 style connector and is in perfect condition aside from some mild yellowing. Time to mix up a batch of Retrobright...

Just bought an IBM Proprinter II for $1 + $12 shipping. Says it needs work / makes a grinding noise, stops and beeps, and missing the paper advance knob. For $13, I think it's worth the risk.

Finally got the chance to a CRT monitor I've been looking for.

Being the owner of various Sony BVMs and PVMs for 15khz use, the Sony GDM-FW900 was high on the wanted-list in regards to monitors.

A visit to a local fleamarket also brought some hardware, which is seldom seen in this vintage at least. No expensive cards, but something that I didn't have available, so a deffinate buy at a bargain price. Haven't tried - and initially didn't know what it was for - a Lenten Reborn card, but this will end up in one of the Win98 computers for testing 😀

Those are awesome. I'm also trying to grab them in boxes since in a few years time prices for these might blow up, and finding a boxed card for a decent price might prove difficult.

Thanks for the link - unfortunately they will not ship outside of AU 🙁 I would have loved to get some nib cards... I was looking at the leatdek 8800gt, 6800 and the gigabyte hd 4850... 😢
