I had a FireGL2 and it only supports OpenGL. No Direct3D support at all.

Nice card. And the original box? That's amazing. It's rare to find something on eBay that has the original box.

There is some stuff on eBay but I have very limited space so I only collect Creative Labs sound/video cards in original boxes.
Still in need of the Creative Labs TNT2 Vanta and TNT2 M64...

That's actually not true. The reason for cheap shipping from China to overseas is the fact, that China became member of the Universal Postal Union in 1914 and was being treated as a development country with according rates. You know... Quake-II, UT99, NFS Porche 2000, Doom-II and Duke3d. Those sort of last half of the 90's games.

Not sure how this happened but I ended up buying more old PC hardware recently.

I picked up a small lot of old CPUs on eBay for $10. In the lot was:

Pentium 60Mhz (SX948) ... I finally own an original Pentium! Quite pleased with this find. The pins seem intact too.
K6-2 500AFX
K6-2 475ACK
Pentium 100Mhz (SX963)
Athlon Thunderbird 1333Mhz AYHJA ... legendary CPU, I had one of these back then, sadly it looks like there's a tiny chip on the corner of the die, which isn't surprising... that's how mine died.
Celeron 500Mhz (Socket 370)
Pentium III 600EB (Socket 370)
Pentium 4 3.0/1MB/800Mhz (Socket 775)
Two tiny but decent looking socket 7\370 heatsinks with fans
And two most likely useless Pentium 4 mobile chips (1.6Ghz, 1.8Ghz)

... not a bad haul! Only had to straighten some pins. 😵

I also had a major moment of weakness and jumped on a Diamond Monster Fusion (AGP Voodoo Banshee with SGRAM and a cooling fan) which I nabbed for only $10.

Oooh, Voodoo Banshee + K6-2 sounds like a good combo!

Yeah, I'll admit, I have hardware of this era coming out my nose, but I couldn't resist at that price. Though a 3DFX card with an actual cooling fan on it seems like a good idea. I have a "retro" system with a K6-2 500AFX already. Honestly, all of those CPUs were bonuses with that Pentium 60. That's my first CPU from that era. Everything else I have is Socket 7 or newer (not counting the 8088 + 286 upgrade in my old IBM 5150).

Took this lot away for $10 from a newly discovered electronics recycle center within a quick driving distance from me. I'd say that price was, well, amazing. There was tons more to cherry pick, but just didn't have enough time. The photos aren't great, but I do like the very early Sound Blaster SB2.0 8-bit CT1350B. Needs some cleaning. Anyone know what those empty sockets are for on the that card? Seems that this model has those empty sockets. Maybe for later upgrades?

Some of this will end up in my hardware giveaway thread shortly. If any of you have a use for the 486 SX-25 CPU, PM me. I have no idea if it works and have not tested it so install it at your own risk. I don't trade or sell. I give it away as you all know so not to break the rules of this forum. Just like to find homes for this stuff so it is preserved and not recycled into oblivion.

Awesome find! I have a CT1350B myself. The empty sockets are for the CMS (Creative Music System) upgrade. The specific revision of your card and the DSP chip determine whether or not you can actually do the upgrade without side effects. Some late 80s and early 90s games used CMS music as a more advanced alternative to Adlib\FM (Yamaha OPl2 or OPL3) music. Here's a whole thread about the upgrade:

Two of the chips are fairly easy to find on eBay. The other chip must be programmed by someone... which, thankfully, is possible now due to the diligent efforts of communities like this. 😀

The empty sockets are for the CMS "upgrade" which allows you to use CMS sound in games. Also dibs on those corsair ram dimms. 😀

Codegen PSUs are usually reliable after a recap.

I'd suggest taking some internal shots of it - I've seen some pretty beefy Codegens around here and I'd actually expect them to last with good caps.
