Thanks for replies. Memories on ET6100 are the same as on ET6000... what funny is that ET6000 is little faster than ET6100 in doom... I thought 6100 is faster.
Both ET6100 I have are "dark"... compareing to S3 cards I own, Brightnes on Tsengs ET6100 issignificantly lower. Can I do something about it? (I mean bios or some DOS software)... I only use them in DOS.

EDIT:
I have two chips with the same numer 908 but they doesn't work. If I place them in card speedsys shows still 2mb... But fortunately I will have two more "spare" chips and one of my ET6100 has 4 sockets - so I'll try to change all 4 od tchem if numbers will fit.

I bought this thinking it was a 64MB 9200SE PCI, turned out to be a full 128MB 9250 PCI. This will replace the Matrox G450 PCI I planned to upgrade my GX110 with for sure, now I also need to find a Coppermine 1000 to go with this - it will be a very nice Win9x/2K Retro system.

Sweet card, man. The last ATI Radeon card I had was a 9200 AGP and PCI-E version. The other Radeon card I had was a Diamond Stealth S60AGP (Radeon 7000 clone). Nowadays, it's nVidia all the way.

Akai makes some great products. As an electronic music artist I used to be a big fan of their rack samplers back in the 80s and 90s.

First test: sounds awesome, very balanced and nice drums. 😁 Have to test with some games now.

I still own a few of their products.

Anyway, I think you'll be happy with that unit for a very long time.

You have to watch out: are these MD908 AJ5 100 or 120.
I think in case of the ET6100 only 120 will work.
So I can not offe you any Chips, as I only have 2 x 100 left.

Reverting back to the Tseng ET6x00 MDRAM discussion above let me suggest a very nice reading on the topic:
https://www.xfree86.org/3.3.6/tseng12.html
As far as the ET6000 and ET6100 difference is concerned:
ET6000 takes MDRAM chips rated for 100 and 120, while ET6100 takes only 120.

Fortex, the A3D & XG/OPL3 accelerator (Vortex 2 + YMF744 combo sound card)

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

HAHA. It isn't a RAM compressor. It is a memory manager that can load certain stuff into extended memory instead of just base and UMBs. And free up the BIOS and VIDEO BIOS areas by loading a special one into extended RAM to free up more UMBs.

Hey I gots me one of those too - just came across it when doing some PCI VGA benchmarking. I pulled this out of a recycle center rescue years ago - nice looking card, good image quality. Not dark on my Philips 107E5 CRT, and quicker than my fave PCI VGA card, the Matrox Millennium. Testing done in a P166MMX:

Matrox

3D bench: 141.8
DOOM: 1007 realtics

Tseng

3D bench: 150.4
DOOM: 935 realtics

So as i suspected CRT brightness/overbrightness is affected by the connected video card?

I just tried my CrystalScan EV700 in the dark for the first time with my Dell GeForce2 Ultra and wow, the blacks start polluting with light at 65 and details in colored areas start disappearing at 80. Normally this monitor keeps details down to 75 and can keep total darkness in black areas up to about 75-80. Weak VGA signal I guess? if this keeps up I'll be reinstalling the GF256 (Elsa Erazor X) as that's un-viewable. A CRT should have full detail in dark scenes without polluting total blacks with light.
