ah ok, thanks for the replies. I attached a link with the ebay photo, maybe it will be easier to view outside of ebay 🤣. Sounds like the terminator is something I will never have a use for, but is kind of neat to have kicking around. So far from what iv found it is a 1mb card that is expandable to 2mb. What is the ram called to upgrade these cards anyway? I have a few of these cards with empty sockets laying around and only one in use that is actually populated (Diamond s3 trio 64)

haha gosh darn it. My computer area is also my sleeping area so my bed doubles as my computer chair and workbench. Working on an am2 system right now and I gotta say, this is inconvenient as heck! I cant think of any simple ways of enlarging it off of the top of my head. But here is what I found so far: Western Digital Bali 32bit and it was made in 1994

From a quick search, it appears to be based on the ARK Logic 1000. It would probably be fine as a 2D controller for a Win3.x or 95 machine (if 95 drivers exist for it) paired with a Voodoo Graphics or something similar. It appears that it will have limited gaming capabilities on its own though.

If 3.x drivers exist there are probably 9x drivers. 95 has a lot of built in drivers.

I will try this out vs my s3 trio for a 2d card and see which one I like better. If nothing else it will be the oldest pci video card I will own! and it looks really cool, heck how many people know or remember that WD made video cards?

Hey, at least on here hoarder and messy rooms are the norm. Although seeing some of the member's amazingly well organized hoards make me feel inadequate at times xD

I just recieved a new AWE32 card. Bought it for 6 dollars, excluding shipping. 12 dollars in total.
Then I cleaned it up, by giving it a shower, without any soap. Just clean water.
Now it is resting on a tea towel, on top of the heater. Can't wait untill it is dry.
As my last AWE32 died, while I was playing Full Throttle.

ARK1000 is great for DOS, but it's somewhat limited for Windows. Essentially the 2MB upgrade only adds a few interlaced modes, so you'll be limited to 16M colours in 640x480 and 64k colours at 800x600. For PCI you're probably better off going S3.

Haven't posted in awhile but I saved these from recyclers at a show recently.
Pentium Pro 200-256k It was in a really beat-up case missing all side panels, and the top.
So I tossed the case, and the board just went through the cleaning process.
Sitting next to it, is a socket 5 unknown cpu, its really coated with dust inside and I haven't cleaned it yet, and inspected it further, it does have a SB16 CT1740 in it.

P-pro

Unknown AT
Sorry about case badge had to edit it out did not realize it was advertising something that actually still exists.

Also saved a K6-2 on a not shown also in an AT case. Sadly the Recycler was able to cart away about 6 - pentium II's, and one of the other AT computers before I was able to save any of them 🙁
There probably scrap now, and lost forever.

It depends on the card. Some use standard DRAM, others EDO. The best way to be sure is to look up a datasheet for the existing chips model number. That will tell you the memory type. It's also important to note the speed of the chips already installed (usually 60ns or 70ns in older cards, but can go down to 35ns in newer ones) and only install chips with equal rating. I've seen cards upgraded with faster chips but I don't know how reliable that is.

286 board with Simm slots and 12mhz amd processor and 8 isa slots.

I believe its an modulair circuit technology brand (that MCT stands for)

That's a good candidate for a crystal swap and upgrade to 25mhz.

Sad story....
Wish I was there, as I am hunting for an AT-desktop case.
Not been able to find any in Denmark this year.

Yea AT, cases are really hard to find.
Newegg still has that one HEC Desktop Case forsale that will accept BABY AT boards tho, if you can order from them.
Just have to make your own I/O plate for it.

That Pentium Pro was in an standard ATX case, as you can probably tell, so no big loss for tossing the case, it was missing the side panels and the top, really no point in keeping the frame.

Hmm... Does this count?

I think I can get away with that given that it would be near useless without the PC I use for sequencing... I considered hooking it up to my Atari ST but remembered I find the system tedious (because I start wishing I was on my C64) and decided against it.

I think I'm about done with computer stuff to buy. I've bought some other stuff, but it isn't even digital so I can't justify posting it here really, if you're into photography you might like one of the things I bought though.

What you are looking for is most probably "256Kx16 RAM in SOJ40 package". I'm 90% sure, but the ebay picture is too blurry to be 100% sure 😊 . Anything as fast as the already installed RAM on your display adapter or faster, will most probably work. For example:

Never posted in this thread before.. so here goes 😀

Got this 486 bad boy off of ebay for about $20 shipped. It looks and feels brand new. Slight battery corrosion, but nothing major. Going to do my first coin battery replacement on it. I'm putting him in a gateway 2000 486 case that I've had sitting around for awhile, and then eventually sell it.

That would just be too expensive. Danes have to pay vat on everything past 13,26 us dollars, if imported outside the EU.
And import charges are being added when the price is more than 193,06 us dollars.
Just not worth the hazzle. Only if someone would donate the case for free, pay for the shipping and label the package as a gift.
