No, it isn't an FX 5200. 🤣 It's a Quadro FX 700 128MB (it's sitting on its box; it was NIB). Kind of an odd-duck card that came out in early 2004, based on the NV35 (same as GeForce FX 5900 and Quadro FX 3000), but it's clocked fairly low (275MHz core and 550MHz RAM @ 256-bit) and runs, as you can see, passively. I'm hoping the performance will be on-par with my FX 5800 Ultra in it's idle state, which is where most of my older games load it anyways. It'll be going in a Shuttle XPC that I picked up not long ago, and the goal is to build a nearly silent retro PC. 😀

No offense, but a phrase like this reminds me of those people who always swear by Craigslist, but get 99% of their stuff from eBay =)

Nice score on the quadro, building more along the lines of pci now days.

It works too - tested it in 3D01 this afternoon, and it completes everything no problem. Performance is really good, and it's uncanny watching such a quiet machine hammering out multi-hundred FPS. 🤣 (And I'm not done with quieting it down yet!)

I have bought many things on CL and Marktplaats (NL): Music Quest PC MIDI card, CM-32L, CM-32P, LAPC-I, Eizo CRT, Sony CRTs, Dell CRTs, IBM PS/2, other CRTs, diskettes, NEC PowerMate, generic PCs, IBM 5150, LapLink, MPU-IPC, MPU-IPC-T, MPU-401, SC-55, SC-55MKII and many other things.

Today I picked up a 14" clone brand CRT. And there are 100s of items I could have but never did buy.

I typically share what I find but do not buy. I have helped 50+ find things they were looking for (in some cases for years).

IMO buying on eBay is really easy: there is more challenge and reward digging stuff up elsewhere. Usually it is cheaper as well. Actually: there is too much out there. Sometime last year there was a guy in NJ and then a few momths later a guy in PA who both had 100+ systems and 100s of parts (lots of NOS/NIB) as well. And a guy in MI I believe who had pallets full of PS/2s. I am limited by storage space and time. I prefer playing games and searching for stuff. I rarely buy really.

2 more Trinitrons ready for pick up:

Man, if I could only have the access to all kinds of things like you do. 🤣

Though like you I am limited on storage space and time too. 😢

But this hobby is never ending. 🤣

@ Reese: exactly.

This is the 14" CRT I picked up today. It makes for a more genuine 286 experience. I had a similar Philips 14" VGA CRT with it back then. Not a 21" Trinitron. 🤣

That's a pretty sweet looking setup there. 😀

Do you use a soundcard to get the CD-rom hooked up or is it directly off an IDE port?

Very nice Magnavox! We purchased the Headstart 386sx-20 with built in cd-rom drive from the Magnavox store when new in the 90's for our home . It was my first 386 and replaced our Tandy 1000TL 286 with CM-11 monitor.

New Commodore Plus 4 in box with warranty card. Only the box has seen any wear and the power supply and accessories are still in plastic. I ALSO have the Plus 4 monitor.

I just bought a Radeon X1950XTX for 10 Euro 😀

These cards are as common as hen's teeth and unicorns, at least in Sweden.
Its arguably the fastest single GPU DX9 video card.
