486 pooter
AM5x86-133, clocked at 160MHz
M919 rev 3.4 AT motherboard (4 ISA, 1 VLB, 3 PCI, 4 72-pin SIMMS, Socket 3)
AMIBIOS 10/10/94, WinBIOS omg!! (I wish I could make screenshots of the WinBIOS interface, its so much better than later AMIBIOS revisions)
STB Powergraph s3 Trio 64v+ 1MB
Sound Blaster AWE32, 8mb memory
3COM 3C-905TX PCI Ethernet card
Windows 98SE + Windows 2000 SP4
Maxtor 13GB HD (set as 7GB)
Performs in Quake well at around 12fps avg (not too shabby really)
Also can play Zdoom and Odamex doom source ports at stable 25fps.
Cinebench r10 scores: 13 CB-CPU, 193 CB-GFX

Issues:
- Serial port issues (MOUSE JUMPING!)
- Lack of TSC (Timestamp clock) means detecting CPU mhz in some apps like dxdiag and ff7config causes a nice segfault.
- Can't install DirectX 8.x or 9. DirectX 7 is the best DirectX you can possibly install on a 486 cpu.
- Under Windows 2000,ethernet card hogs loads of cpu, and stops completely without any more packets after a minute

That M919 mobo you have....does it happen to be the same L2 cacheles PC CHIPs motherboard that looks like this:

yes infact it's that exact motherboard

Is your model equipped with the two black fake L2 cache chips?

On mine they're not there.
I have that "special cache module" installed in the L2 cache slot...still fake L2 cache though, 🤣

Are those two fake cache chip spots at the top right corner of the board?? The pads and the traces from them look totally fake, with the traces going in circles. So the board comes with the option of a real cache in COAST module form, or some fake plastic things in the top corner. 🤣

Does it work well?

The "COAST" module is fake too, have done diagnostic tests which proves this board to be L2 cacheless.....the boards performance speaks for itself also
It's too bad since the board looks like it has some real potentional 🙁

hi
i'm trying to nail out the serial port issue
it 'works', but the mouse jumps all over the place and i've tried 3 different mice and two different serial ports. 😒

Are you sure the COAST module is fake too? Do the traces go anywhere? The module in the picture looks kind of detailed. That would cost more money than it was worth to do that. You also may not have the right module.

There is a fix for this that involves cutting a trace for a resistor that's supposed to be effective.

Sorry, but does this board have any cool features that I might have missed in your descriptions?
It seems to me that it is a real PITA to work with, why are you putting up with it?

Because it has 3 PCI slots and 4 72pin SIMM slots, and I have two of them already, though the unused, older, green one has questionable mold and rust around the stuff around the CPU socket.

And none of this was ebay'd. This costed $80 in 1996 😀
