I wonder if there is any dos-based testing / diagnostic utility similar to the one used for Soundblaster (16) cards that works with every soundcard?
I mean something where you can test the base adress, IRQs and DMAs, 8-bit and 16-bit sound, FM-synth, MPU401 port, wavetable/MIDI functions, left/right channel and (this would be great) the SBpro (and GM/GS!) compability of a card...
I normally use the "Descent" setup screen for this, but this is of course just a compromise.
