Coming to think of it, are there souncards which provide 100% MPU-401 compatibility, rather than just emulating it?

And to what extent the "intelligent" mpu-401 mode play role in terms of Dos games with MT-32? I think Dosbox can circumvent this problem with it's built-in intelligent mode support.

The other day, I was trying Bitmap Brothers' Gods in pure DOS. The LAPC-I worked without problems. But when I send the music signals to the MT-32 via AWE32's joystick port (after removing the LAPC-I), the midi message didn't reach the module. Does Gods utilize intelligent mode?
