a few days ago i get a 3Dlabs Oxygen GVX1
with Permedia 3 GPU and Gamma T&L chip

i download the latest drivers from 3dlabs.com but they dont work, win98se crashes at boot if i set color depth to 256 or more (need a reboot)
i know on the back are 4-5 SMD missing and the 2,5cm FAN dont work but windows detect both, VGA and Geometry Processor

i searched for other drivers but only find drivers for other cards or sides with
"please download our analyzer.exe and you get helped"

any idea or hint?

System
Asus P2B-LS 1.03.
P3 800MHz
256MB RAM
IDE CD and HDD
580W PSU
Win 98se

and thats the card

Wow! I just looked up the price for a Canon EOS 450D, but unfortunately it's much more than I can afford. I would like to get a cheap camera, that can take good close up pics indoors - eg: photos of retro hardware.

works good up to full length add on cards like V5 6000, ATX Mainboard are hard on the border

and thats only the 1024px version, most pictures i also make in a quadHD resolution version

ELSA GLoria : ftp://ftp.cs.tu-berlin.de/pub/msdos/mirrors/f … ICS/GLORIA/4_8/ (Try GLA_W95.ZIP) (ftp://ftp.mb3.tu-chemnitz.de was the main elsa.de mirror, but it doesn't allow now anonymous access?)
Though I wouldn't use 3dlabs chips based cards with 9x. These were really NT cards. (I use a Permedia 2 on my AlphaNT - works fine. It seems there were also drivers for PowerPC NT and MIPS NT, but I couldn't find a copy.)

Yes, excellent quality picture indeed! I first thought that image was linked from another website, like the maker's ad or products page.

I agree. I just bought a VP870 as I once had a VP970 [which is slightly faster but uses the same driver] and remember it had great quality and whizzy things like making windows transparent when you moved them. Also optimised OpenGL and DirectX settings for a reasonable number of games [like Diablo 2 for example]. Not that they were marketed as gaming cards, but the rumours once were that creative bought them out to use the chip in consumer cards [don't think that happened].

This time round, I installed it on a Windows 98 machine with an XP2000+, whereas before I used a Windows 2000 box with a Pentium 3 866. Big mistake. No eye candy transparent windows [not in the driver]. And for Diablo 2 on max settings I ended up with something like 7-8 fps in Harrogath, ie. hopeless. Looked ok though 😵 .
