Hi again. So I recapped an old MSI MS-6309 today and got windows98se installed on it.

Everything is fine except that I cannot find drivers for the Audigy 2 SB0240 that install everything. I did find a set of WDM that will atleast install the audio processor and the 1394 firewire driver.....but not a "PCI Input Controller" I assume it might be the SB16 Emulation?

Sound will work with these WDMs I found.

Are there any of Daniel K packs that work with the Audigy 2 and windows98se? or Soft-modded drivers?

Here is the system build:
Pentium III 733MHz
MSI MS-6309
256MB PC-133
Voodoo 5 5500AGP
DFI 10/100 nic card
Soundblaster Audigy 2 SB0240
40GB Samsung HDD
Samsung 52x CDRW 8mb buffer

TIA!

Just an update. I got the those WDM drivers to install, the hitch.... I installed Windows ME!

Turns out that the item missing is a Creative Game Port.

I have never used Windows ME on my own computers so this will be fun. Installation of every thing went well until my NIC card. Using a DFE-530TX+ driver cd kept installing XP drivers for some reason. Once I manually installed the ME drivers it looked good in the device manager, but still no internet!!! After messing with the drivers a bit more I found that the TCP/IP protocol did not install for the D-Link! Once I got that installed internet finally was working.

Just getting ME2Dos installed and removing PCHealth, System Restore. Will see how things go.

Maybe my last update. Got bored of Windows ME already and just got done installing windows98se once more.

Upon further inspection I found that the ctljystk.inf was not calling the proper id string of the audigy card. Once I added the proper string the driver installed no with problems. I haven't tested a joystick yet but do have one on the way and might check it if it works. Atleast Device Manager will stop showing a stupid Exclamation point 😁
