Im old goal oriented goatman, i care about facts and freedom, not about egos+prejudices. Hoarding=sickness. If you want respect, gain it by your behavior. I hate stupid SW limits, SW=virtual world, everything should be possible if you have enough raw HW.

Hello, the Sound Blaster 128PCI - CT4810 - 5880 Chip is a particularly difficult card to install due to the confusing nomenclatures of the Ensoniq - Creative product transition at the time.

The Vogons Driver Library doesn't have the adequate ones for that particular card for Win9x, as none of the SB128PCI or other CD images/files have worked.

As opposed to the "Web Update" versions which are found everywhere on the Web these drivers are the real deal and are only found by searching for the specific file name. Strangely, despite being the original drivers for the card, it requires 3 files which aren't contained in the "CT5880_9X" package: EAPCI2M, EAPCI4M and EAPCI8M. These files can be found in the complementary "sb128_multi_OS" driver package.

Please specify in the upload description that both packages are needed to complete the installation on Win9x. I'm not 100% certain that those exact files are the ones needed or if there are more, so it's probably best to just keep both packages.

Here's the link with both packages for this specific card model:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/5a0glqamts7l3e … ckages.zip/file

Someone please upload this when possible, this card in particular has caused some threads to appear due to the same installation issues. Thanks

Hmm so the Creative Sound Font Wave sets are missing from original drivers... interesting. Will check it out and upload later when I have time this weekend.

Hi Horun, did you get a chance to look into it? Checked the Driver Library but didn't see any new entries for it

Took a little bit of searching to find a good CT4810 image with 5880 chip 😉

It's perfect, wouldn't have done it any better. This should finally put an end to the persistent troubles it caused with many users in the past. Thank you so much

Have been trying to get a Terratec sound card working recently. Found that they still host a sweet collection of drivers/manuals/images/etc for their devices at http://terratec.ultron.info/Audio/

Might be a good idea to mirror in case they decide to yeet them in the future?

Can I just take a moment to thank you guys??

VogonsDrivers is over 11 years old now. It had very humble and rushed beginnings, but has become something that helps people every day with their retro PCs.

The scale is something I never thought possible, and it wouldn't have been possible without everyone in this thread. Together we've turned countless people's retro PC frustrations into super happy gaming fun time. 😀

So yeah. Thanks VOGONS. <3

New page on the site today, just giving a little history, and ways I can be contacted. http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/about.php

We should be the ones thanking you SquallStrife. The number of times your site saved my ass, particularly when I started out in this hobby, is countless. I've done my best to contribute to it here and there, and hope it helped someone. I am grateful to have you in this community. Thank you.

So I was researching Audigy RX support for Windows 9x via the KX drivers and was able to find out that 3538h was possibly the last version to support 9x.
https://msfn.org/board/topic/175598-finding-w … -for-audigy-rx/

Supposedly the 3538a-? versions allow the RX to work (3537 does not). 3538c works for sure according to the Internets
I spent a ton of hours trying to find any 3538 version before i (which doesn't support 9x)

It looks like the applications included with the driver require Windows XP. I haven't tested changing Major/Minor OS ver with CFF Explorer yet. (The SDK is included with the driver as well).

As always FTP search found these:

kxdrv3538-full.exe
*This is KX driver 3538c

Thanks grabbed them. Never knew it 'could' work under Win9x other than rumors.
Upped it to Archive org as a second source for now (Google drives seems to clean things out (on me anyway) in a short time frame).

The ISO here is not working right and I have no idea why. Doesn't mount correctly in 86box (appears in Windows 95 as an empty disc with 252MB of data on it) and 7-Zip won't open it.
http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1713

Got some people in the 86box Discord looking at this to determine what's actually happened with that ISO.

Yes, 7za tests and extracts it without problems, but file identifies the extracted .iso as just "data"...
Corrupt file? Or some other format than raw ISO9660 ?

The crew in the 86box Discord have solved this particular mystery. Turns out it's a .BIN (with no matching .CUE) that's been labelled .ISO.

I've uploaded a .CUE for this .BIN (created by an 86box Discord user) to my OneDrive. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjOJShitNMY5rLtxSLnoa2Zba2y7Pw?e=V3WEFU

EDIT: Might not be that after all. Still not mounting correctly in 86box even after renaming the .ISO to .BIN and using the created .CUE.

EDIT 2: Original .CUE was faulty. Fixed one linked.
