Is there anyone, who can explain to me why the early DVI equipped graphic cards are limited to 1280x1024? I thought some of my GeForce cards (especially my SGI V3) could work with my FullHD LCD, but it seems they all are limited to 1280x1024. Is this a problem of the graphics chip or some auxilary chip on the card? It seems even some quite new cards like the FX5200 exhibit this problem - since which GeForce DVI could support more than 1280x1024?
