I've spent a few months trying to find something that probably doesn't exist anymore, a color 10" CRT. All my monitors are LCD's these days, but I'd love to have a small, portable CRT to pull out on my retro machines to check for aspect ratio when I'm setting up a new game, or within DOSBox.

After searching for what used to exist, it seems the Miracle MT310 or MT317 monitor would be ideal. If anyone has a lead on one or something similar, let me know.

I'd prefer not to have a 14" for space reasons, but may have to go that route since they were plentiful.

Wow, tricky search so far! You may have to email the manufacturer to see what they recommend.

I did find this NCR 10" VGA Monitor but the pic on PinnacleMicro doesn't seem to match and I figure you don't want to pay close to a grand anyhow...

That thing does 1024x768? My eyes hurt just from imagining that.

how about 12" ? I used to see those here and there - most were either industrial models (meaning rugged/heavy, not really what you're looking for) or just CGA/EGA/TTL, but there were definitely some VGA ones made. Think even IBM made one.

10" and 12" CRT's were indeed common, but usually monochrome and not VGA. This little gem does 1024x768 and I assume a couple resolutions under that. 'Perfect for DOS games since I never ran any of them above 800x600 anyway. If it can handle 320x200, 400x300 or any of those funny lower resolutions, that would be ideal.

I like the idea of a "spot check" CRT to have in the house. It's not that I would play any intensive games on it.

No no no, what you REALLY want is this nice 20"er:

Imagine that displaying 320x240.... ohhh man *drool*
What a beautiful trinitron that is, too bad it's 85 pounds... sigh...

Old thread of mine...but I'm bumping it because I'm still searching for such an animal. My tickler on eBay has come up empty for months, but then I'm just looking for those specific Miracle models. If anyone reading this knows of another brand, let me know.

10 or 12" color VGA monitor. 800x600 or 1024x768 capable.

How about this one? :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281140231535
Does 800x600, manual here:

even as NEW!(2004 prod date): http://www.ebay.com/itm/281140207223
(and seller also has some other makes/models, not sure if all vga)

Here's a different model to look for:
"26S10MA38H - KME 10" CRT Monitor"
(10" Dot Pitch 0.28mm Screen: Anti-Reflective Active Area: 175x130mm 6.9x5.1" Max Resolution: 800 x 600)
Though I guess all units of this CRT model are dead by now, seeing all the ads for LCD retrofit kits...

But perhaps "Viewmagic" also made color models ?:

Good luck! 😎

But what about that first one(2) in my 'list' ? Too big ? 😁
Seems like a good candidate, though a 'rugged beauty' at that... (lacking proper cabinet, but has a handle!)
is 10''+color+vga+1024 etc, check manual for details.
