I found a fantastic article on another forum (uh-oh!) 😊

I applied what was in this post on my Biostar MB8433UUD-A Rev.2 board, which I recently found out was dead. The tips worked, and I figured I'd share for anyone who's in the market of replacing their RTC.

IMO, instead of replacing the entire RTC with another RTC (just to die again in ~15 years), I replaced it with a coin-style battery which are normally much more common in modern-day junker systems.

External forum write-up is here: http://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22000

My modification can be seen below. It has been confirmed working! (yay)

Have fun soldering! 😎

I did the same to the RCT of my MB8433UUD-A Rev.3 last week.
got my information from HERE

I think that a sticky topic for repair tutorials would be an awesome idea! Seeing as the forum search is pretty broken.
