Got this whole lot for free today. Took me an hour to drive and get it, but I hoped some of it would be worth it.

Pretty happy with the servers. They are completely original. Nothing have been upgraded/changed.

They look similar on the outside, but have different setups on the inside. One is manufactured, the other nov 1996.

Feb 1996:
Dual Socket 5 Intel P75, TONS of 32MB FPM RAM, SCSI CDROM, 2GB 50PIN SCSI harddrive, SCSI Tapedrive (w/ 2GB tape) and some other SCSI harddrive which I could not see the details on atm. Integrated SCSI and VGA.

Nov 1996:
Dual Socket 5 Intel P133, lots of RAM, SCSI CDROM, SCSI 2GB 68PIN harddrive, SCSI Tapedrive. Adaptec U2940. Cirrius Logic VGA card, Ethernet card.

The laptops are a bid in bad shape. I dunno what is worth saving? Here is the model numbers. I need to find some more info on them:
3x 760ED
750C
3x 770
760CD
I don't care so much about the laptops though. I just took them since the guy had them for free. He was going to throw ALL of this away if not!

Anyone here have any experience with IBM stuff?

The laptops are worth saving but I will be honest they are not easy at first to get working right but very much worth it. For early win9x and dos on the go is pretty rare sight to see now days. You can use the same chargers from the T4x line as they voltage and connector is the same. Be sure that you have the hard drive caddy in each machine or you will be dumping them in storage.

Those Thinkpads are easy to work on and find parts for (if needed). Those towers are cool, wish I had one.

Also those thinkpads should have the ability to do painless screen stretch, although aliased. You'll need to get the Thinkpad tools from the Lenovo site for those models

So both systems use the Neptun chipset?

760ED: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:760ED http://thinkwiki.de/760
P133, Trident Cyber9385 2MB, XGA, IBM Mwave Audio and Modem controller, integrated MPEG-Decoder, Video-In/Video-Out

750C: http://thinkwiki.de/750
80486SL 33MHz, Western Digital WD90C24 1MB, VGA, unspecified audio chip on board

770: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:770 http://thinkwiki.de/770
PMMX 200/233, Trident Cyber9397 2MB, XGA, CS4237B Audio controller

760CD: http://thinkwiki.de/760
P90/P120. Trident CYBER9320 1MB, SVGA, unknown if it has audio (probably), integrated MPEG-Decoder, Video-In/Video-Out

If the 750C is working that might be the most interesting box of the lot. 486/33 with decent VGA chip plus VGA resolution is good for many DOS games.
The 3D capability of the Cyber9397 is not very useful, especially with 2MB RAM. I player Tomb Raider 2 with the same chip and 4MB RAM. Decent 2D accelerator, though - you could use it for Windows 3.x if necessary (probably true for the 760* as well).

Can you post the model numbers of the IBM servers? There should be a number like xxxx-yyy somewhere written on them. Does any of the servers contain MCA slots?

They're still nice Dual 430NX machines. Don't throw them out hasty - no matter what everyone else says about them - complete dual Pentium systems are quite rare these days 😀 I have all PS/2 95A guts without the case, because a stupid recycler decided to scrap it. I also have a great IBM Server 520 (without MCA slots) motherboard, again without case, because someone wanted to have more space.
